The picture of the unfinished beveled frame hole looks dramatic! But going back to your finished
picture, it came out looking really good! Nice job!

Sweet, but...
...you didn't put any shots down range before the work?!!! ???

Nope. I did the same thing with my P-01, P-07, P-09, SP-01, and Stainless LE.  Out of the box and completely disassemble... polish all the internal parts that will stay in the gun (trigger, trigger bar, sear, sear cage, pins, barrel feed ramp)... refine/smooth all mating surfaces with a medium stone (slide rails, barrel locking lugs, etc.)... reassemble with CGW and CZC parts... dryfire about 500 times... then take to the range.  All have performed flawlessly.  :)

I've dryfired this new PCR about 500 times now... taking it to the range this afternoon.  8)

My beveled frame hole is definitely much more subdued than the P-01's elliptical shaped recess.  I would've tried to reproduce the elliptical recess, but figured it would've looked like crap with my amateur skills with a dremel.  :)

Thanks for all the compliments everybody!

Beautiful looking Compacts. I debated whether to get the PCR or P-01, and decided on the P-01. The PCR is such a nice pistol, that it may be in my future. I'm loving the P-01, as it's one of the finest handling, accurate pistols in my collection. I have a hard time not including it when I'm going to the range, as it's just a fun shooting pistol, so it usually tags along regardless of what else I'm shooting that day.

I was also conflicted on whether to get a P-01 or a PCR. I ultimately decided on the P-01 because I didn't like the weird reversed positioned rear sights on the PCR (leaving a gap on the slide with aftermarket sights installed) and the P-01 was just a smaller version of my SP-01 (my favorite competition gun).  When CZ Custom came out with PCR specific rear sights, I knew I'd have to go ahead and get a PCR.  I love the matching front/rear slanted cocking serrations on the PCR's slide, but overall the P-01 gets the win for my favorite concealed carry gun.  Maybe the P-01 frame with a PCR slide would be perfect (for me)!  :o

I recently did some close quarters training with several of my concealed carry guns while recovering from knee surgery last month, and out of the three guns that I used, the P-01 was the best!

That's an excellent drill. The P-01, as are other CZs, is a great pistol for point shooting. It's size and balance makes it ideal for a Close Quarters drill like that.

I really like the slide stop mod.  Clever.

Thanks!  I'm really surprised that CZ Custom doesn't do something similar to their ProTek 1 pistols.  That slide stop pin really sticks out on the PCR.

Now that your PCR has that short tactical sight and the P-01 has that full-length tactical sight (and thus a slightly longer sight radius), which do you feel aims and thus shoots better?

So far, I've only shot 50 rounds through the PCR, so I don't really have a good feel for which sight set is more accurate.  I will say that I can pick up the PCR sights better (in daylight or well lit indoor scenarios) than I can with the P-01 sights because they have a white outline around the tritium vials opposed to the silver outline on the P-01 sights, so that is definitely an advantage. In low-light or no-light, the tritium brightness is the same.

As I was typing this, I realized that the front tritium sight I installed on my PCR definitely has a white outline around the tritium vial (which matches the rear sight), but on the CZC website, it is listed as having a silver outline.  Maybe all of their new tritium sights will have white outlined vials?  I sure am glad that my PCR's front sight matches the rear, or it would've played havoc with my OCD!!!  :P

I just picked up a tritium front sight from CZC a week or so ago- the outline sure looks white to my eyes
