Tactical Sport Vs. Czechmate
« on: February 14, 2016, 04:27:24 PM »
I'm looking for a new gun for USPSA.  Previously I've shot an XDm 5.25 and a Sig X5, but I'm looking for something more competitive.  STIs are nice and all, but I guess I've just never been much of a 1911 fan.  I recently picked up a CZ Champion, and it has given me a whole new appreciation for how finely crafted the high-end CZs are.  So that has made me look into getting a TZ Tactical Sport.  The pricepoint is nice, and I'd pick up a .40 so I could shoot Limited or IPSC Standard.  But its leaving me wondering if I should fork out the extra money for a CZ Czechmate.  At almost 3 times the cost, its a big jump, but I love that you can shoot Open or Limited (albiet at a disadvantage because of it shooting minor)  What do you guys think?  Is it worth the extra money?

I'm just going to leave this here for you guys to enjoy :P

Coming from someone who started shooting limited minor, go for the TS in 40!

Even if you put in the aftermarket goodies and do a frame reduction, you'll be around $1600-1700.

That said, if you can get on the second pre-order list for a TS Orange, that would be right around the same $1600-1700 with the better front and back strap checkering.

I keep looking at a Czechmate, but loading 9mm Major or running in limited minor again just aren't as appealing...maybe open minor just for fun...

I hear you.  The only issue witht the TS orange is that it supposedly won't run in a Race Master hoster because of the new trigger guard.  Bummer.
