Night sights and rubber grip CZ 83?
« on: February 27, 2016, 08:49:00 AM »
Does anyone have any recommendations on night sights for the CZ 83, 7.65 Browning?  I found some reasonably priced ones around $80 on Amazon but was wondering where they very difficult for a armorer to install properly?  In addition I have been searching for rubber grips for the CZ 83 but it appears the only ones are the original plastic ones  and wooden ones. Any information would be helpful. Thanks and have a great day 8)

Rubber grips are a nogo.  Hogue's stance is that they make their hand all grip sleeve, we should all be glad we got that piece of crap to use.

About 3 years ago when Cajun Gun Works still offered sight installation work on CZ 83s, I had Tru Dot sights installed on a 2012 production pistol. As it appears that you might have an older production year model (92?) the front sights might require something different. I don't see CGW offering sight installation for CZ 83s on their website anymore but you could call them for info on what night sights would work for your gun based on their prior experience.  I think yours has the ramp instead of post sight. As for other types of grips, Prestige Grips offers carbon fiber ones that have a similar feel to the plastic ones.

As far as rubber grips, I posted recently in another thread, but I seem to remember four or five years ago here, someone posting about using spray on (rattle can) pickup truck rubber bed liner  from an auto parts house to give the grips more traction. Take the grips off, and use a couple very light coats.  Never did it myself, but was pretty impressed with the outcome.

I might try the rubber spray on for the grips. I read in another thread that someone else did it and liked it. If I don't like I may go with wooden grips.
