I'm sorry to say I didn't get to chat with the CZ-USA rep for long (busy day at the shop) and unfortunately many of your questions will have to go unanswered for now. I will say he was a stand-up guy and another solid reminder for why I shoot, carry, and support CZ.
They had a few existing CZ models and Dan Wesson firearms out on the table and got to feel around a suppressed (Dead Air) SP-01 Tactical in the new color and a Dan Wesson Discretion (9mm and .45). That discretion looks even badder in person and feels awesome. They also had a P-01, 75B Omega and a Scorpion (sig brace). The SP-01 makes an excellent suppressor host if you were wondering. I was hoping they'd have a Bren carbine to test out but no dice.
If you're curious how the omega trigger feels in a steel gun compared to the standard trigger system (I was) I noticed a few things:
1. Double action pull is shorter in the omega and the hammer doesn't cam as far back
2. Single action reset feels slightly longer than on a standard model but not excessively so
3. Trigger break feels comparable to the trigger break on a standard decocker model
Looks like the next CZ shipment should be hitting the docks in about a month or so if you're not already excited, you can probably start. I know I'll be on the look out for the P01 Omega and maybe a suppressor-ready P01 or P07. I'd love to see the stainless New Edition too!
Sounds like there is no current plan to bring back the semi-compact, so for now you'll just have to build your own.
I'll update if I think of anything else!
