How do you pack your pet?
« on: March 07, 2016, 01:15:02 PM »
I kind of like these but I have a condor bag already that works. I'd just like to see what everyone is using?

UTG soft case, looks like a soft sided portfolio case, complete with business card holder on the outside. :)

Akuser47, like the bag.  However, I've been looking for a way to pack my Scorpion that is more discreet.  I've looked in sporting store, army surplus stores as well as college book stores for a pack that would conceal the weapon yet not give it a military look.  I've seen comments on Amazon for the Vertx EDC pack.  Been thinking about getting one but the price is a little high.  But then most of the quality packs that I've looked at are not cheap.
Do you have any ideas of what would be a good pack any yet not broadcast, in anyway, tactical?

I agree that my current setup screams steal me it's why I'm looking for more commentary and hands on to see what others have used.

Try a duffle roller bag for real discreetness and inexpensive. Wal-Mart has them for around $30.00. The bat bags are real good for the longer 36" AR rifles, but are too big for the Scorpian pistols.

You will need more than one type, if keeping this with you is important and legal to do so where you live. Racquetball racquet bags look great in exercise clothes, but rather out of place in the theater, or out to dinner. Briefcase carriers are a little more versatile, but, like the rest, suffer from the holster purse syndrome - off the body carry.
I found one backpack that is purpose made for submachineguns, and if/when I got a folding adapter for the Scorpion, this is what will be holding it.

The 5.11 Delivery X-Ray Rush messenger bag is another option I use as it looks more like a computer bag, but is ideal for my Scopian and MPX with the buffer tubes attached. It also has several pockets for mags and accessories. I think it comes in three different colors for around $ 110.00. This bag is very discreet.

For the more covert business friendly situations. The leather fossil messenger bag! Holds and SBR scorpion with stock and 6 mags no problem!

MPX, the Xray bag is big enough for the Scorpion with buffer tube attached? How clunky/obvious is it when in use? I'm interested, with the way it's constructed.

It's not obvious at all unless I attach my velcro 2nd Amendment patches, but carrying it with 7 extra loaded mags make it a little heavy. The carry strap is very well made and comfortable carrying on my shoulder. The flap is held together by velcro for quick opening or with a buckle strap for extra closure strength to prevent items falling out accidently. The bag material is very tough and durable. The X-Ray messenger bag easily passes as a computer bag.
