Something I noticed
« on: March 17, 2016, 01:12:51 PM »
New here, and to Eaa and SAR..
My bi tone k2 .45 I recently purchased has Rockledge Fla. stamped on the left side of the frame..
Looking at a few pix here and on the internet, some of the .45's have Cocoa Fla. stamped on the frame..

WHY the difference?? Did they move production facilities?
Is mine older, newer?

EAA only imports them they do not produce them. My Witness 10 is stamped cocoa and it is about 2 years old. Rockledge is part of the cocoa area. I'll check my P-S 9 when I get home to see where it was imported too.

legionofdoon, I know EAA is the importer, and SAR's are made in Turkey.
Thank you for the response,
It's the discrepancy in markings that I'm questioning..
I'm new to these handguns..
Still, my k2 is literally my new favorite!!

My polymer Witness doesn't have either city.

Nice. If you bought it new I wouldn't think it would be older. They sell pretty quickly so doubt  they'd just have them hanging around. They probably started using a different import address for tax purposes. Like I said cocoa and rockledge are part of the same area.

However looking at your serial number compared to others I think yours was made in 2012. I might be wrong though just going by the 12 at the beginning of the second set of numbers where as others with the cocoa stamp have the 15 then what I assume is the production number.
