Hmm... I opened my Scorpion up out of curiosity and found this:

Looks like someone was grinding with a rotary burr.

I got this Scorpion back around October.

Just got my scorpion but haven't had time to open it up.
If it is welded I asume it means I can't change the trigger springs?
Is that correct?
Does the cz custom trigger pack include enough parts to rectify this?

That is correct.  You can't physically remove the trigger cage to make any modifications to the components without first removing that weld.

It also means that if you choose to SBR it, you won't be able to legally put that stock on until you swap enough foreign parts out for 922R compliance.  The trigger and disconnector are two of the pieces that people normally swap out.  There's a good chance that if you submitted your form 1 today, you may get it back well before CZ has the new non-welded trigger groups available.  That is the potentially frustrating part about it.

Has any one considered drilling out the weld and using a new screw?
It looks like they added a collar to the end of he screw and filled it with weld.
Just have to stop before the threaded case.

I would say no the CZ Custom trigger pack does not include enough parts as you would have to repkace all the trigger pack parts including the housing UNLESS you are able to remove the welded screw.

Also I give CZ USA credit in going through the expense to send out new 2016 owners impacted in the short term (once they have them)
That in itself, not to mention the redesigned part, is acknowledgement that the US market is important to them.

^ This is normal... Those marks are from a rotary tool as you suspected, used to deburr the stamped housing during production. It is likely a manual process, not every trigger pack that we have seen looks the same, but the one in the image above is pretty typical. If you purchased your scorpion in Feb/March 2016 or later your trigger pack could be welded in place. If so the retaining screw will look something like this:

Also, just as a heads up, we are working on an alternate solution for everyone over at HBI. We are approaching it from several different angles; it could be as simple as a DIY video that we publish using common tools, or we might release a 3d printed drill/mill fixture design and make the .stl file a free download. Regardless, just thought I should mention it before anyone gets busy with the dremel :-)
