Binary trigger wishes
« on: March 23, 2016, 10:15:14 PM »
I've been monitoring the growing penetration / acceptance in the AR world of binary trigger systems and the (so far at least) acceptance (or tolerance) of them by the NFA. I've tried the Franklin Armory trigger and to be honest, it was pretty amazing in terms of both concept and real world application (rapid double taps). I'm lucky enough to own class 3 M16A1, HK and Uzi and I honestly thought it was darn near as fast and more accurate than my M16 lower.

I know the Scorpion is a young platform and lacks the install base that AR15 has but I would love to see a current (or new) manufacturer eventually design a binary trigger system for the CZ Scorpion platform. I understand that the two players are moving from AR's into HK and AK's next but maybe we can tempt one of them into putting a binary trigger system together for the CZ at some point - would make more sense for this platform than a super tuned CZC trigger with a 3 lbs pull I'd think. Oh well, let's hope. Matt

But where is the drum mag? Seriously these make a 60+ mag a need not a luxury especially if you want to run in subgun matches.

Binary trigger? Never heard of that. Remember ATFE changes opinions like some people change socks...
A drum magazine...now that would be an interesting project. Is there an AR style 9mm drum mag that a different tower could be mated to? I actually rarely load my range mags much over 5 rounds, makes the fun last longer, but I could see the fun in that one. ;)

I'd love to have a a binary trigger system in my scorpion. Oh man oh man oh man I want it so bad! Sadly I think it will be a long time I bet the mpx may be a better bet on these for the fact it uses an ar trigger sytem. I still wonder would we have to change out recoil springs to make it work. It would be sweet though I love to bump my scorpion but I have seen its dangerous so have cut back on bumpin it for now. I know some of the binary systems need different springs to keep the speed right.

I have the Franklin Armory binary trigger in my little 9mm AR and it is a hoot at the range.  There are some folks that are ponying up and installing them on all of their stuff.  I like it, and am glad that I was one of the first, but I don't think that I would install it on my serious stuff.  When the Fostech comes out, I will take a gander at that one too.

And of course, the obligatory picture of said little 9mm AR.

Let's all hope this platform hits its stride and captures the R&D dollars of some of the leading edge manufacturers out there. Know the NFA is notorious for giving and then taking away our options but this concept has been around and accepted for awhile - look up the Ruger binary trigger.

At any rate, since I'm never going to be able to own a CZ Scorpion in its natural state, this wouldn't be a bad substitute. Best. Matt

A Binary or Echo trigger for the Scorpion would definitely make me get off my ass and go buy both (the pistol and the trigger system)!

Fostech echo price of 479 dollars you can get another gun almost, but compared to anything else on rate of fire verses cost it's a deal.
