New style P-07 mags
« on: March 24, 2016, 02:55:04 PM »
I just picked up a new P-07 and want some extra mags. The mags my gun came with are just a bit different than those offered by CZ-USA. There are no holes in the sides of mine with the numbers 5-10-15 stamped under them. I want my mags to match. This a gen2 model, which has been out a couple of years now? Searches have not turned anything up on this latest version of P07 mag, which is a 15 rounder. Also, I cannot get the 15th round in using an UPLULA loader, but can by hand. Must be that new base plate.
The mag has 15 witness holes in its spine.

Strange. I purchased mine (CZ P-07 9mm Gen 2, model #91086) the end of Dec 2015 with a CZ Target Shoot Date of 10-15-2015. I have the 15 round mags with the numbering on the side.

You might want to call CZ-USA about the mags.

Also, am able to load 15 rounds using the UPLULA loader.

Since posting I have been working on the mag. I shaved about 1/4 of the base plate locking plate down. No difference. I then shaved the bottom of the follower down so the legs were even with the oval center post. No difference. I put a CZ75 locking base plate on: totally flat. No difference. I am now thinking the spring is going into coil lock. My target test was 08-28-15. The springs in these mags are very stiff compared my CZ75 mag springs, which are Wolff extra power springs.

Most people give them a little break-in time to let them lossen up.

I got a new 15 round mag from CZ-USA, Neither of my uplula's will let me push the 15th round in, same as the newer mag.
Comparisons:
old spring diameter:       .0490                new spring diameter:        .0520
           "      "      coils                12                     "       "      coils                12
"    mag body: witness holes: 3 - sides       "  mag body: witness holes: 15 - spine
"    locking plate:  no tab on front              "   locking plate:   tab on front
"     mag body: no cut out, front bottom     "   mag body: cut out, front
The cut out on the front of the newest style (my term) mag is a rectangle for the tab in the locking plate to fit into.
The old style refers to the 15 rnd mags currently available from CZ-USA.
The new style are available at CZ-UB for approximately $32 US, but I tried to order some via their website and it wouldn't go through. But I tried.
Followers and base plates appear identical.
CZ's website does mention a stronger mag spring for the P07.

Yes. But the instructions for posting them utterly confuse me. One of the websites says no uploads accepted (of the two recommended in the sticky) I don't want a site that will erase the pics in a little while. The post is no good that way after a few (?) months. Too many kittens saying 'tough luck' to some ones work.

I upload the pics to "PhotoBucket", then copy and paste the link to them in post here.

That's the guy. And that type of mag is what I got from CZ-UB. CZ-USA told me a few weeks ago they did not have this type mag in stock and were not familiar with it. But it has the stronger spring they mention on the CZ-USA web page for the P07. The CZ-UB website also mentions the +2 base pad is included with the P09 & P07 pistols. They came with mine. Did you get them?

Mine didn't have the extension. I believe they come with the P-07 FDE.

Interesting. Mine is the regular black model. Maybe they haven't got the extensions ramped up yet.

The order of the numbers really tweaks my OCD... otherwise, great mags! :)

Here is a picture of a magazine from my 2016 CZ P-07.

I have a 2016 P-07 FDE and these are the mags that came with mine.  It also came with 2 extended mag bases and the L brackets.  The mags I ordered from CZUB are the same as the ones I got with my FDE.
