Here's the 97 model that I would like to see:
(1) Thicker grip and a fatter/higher capacity magazine. I presume they are trying to keep the grip thinner to compete with the thinness of 1911s, but I prefer the fatter grips found on my SP-01 and they can use that extra space to add more rounds (2 or 3 at least in .45ACP).
(2) 10mm. Because it is 10mm. Also, if they did the fatter grips, it wouldn't surprise me if they could fit a 14 round magazine of 10mm. Who wouldn't buy that?
Folks talk about the 10mm being "too hot to handle", but I would wager that the low bore axis and natural recoil muting of the 97 would result in a 10mm that has no worse felt recoil than the average 1911.
