I would search this site as there's lots of feedback regarding that rifle.  I believe it's highly regarded and that they don't come around that often.  The only drawback I see is that the 922r compliance is built into the magazine floor plate and follower.  You could possibly get around that by replacing the gas piston and the pistol grip.  I'm not sure what brand of grip is on there, but if it's not listed as a compliant part it's probably not US-made.  Replacing the trigger would be another option.

I'm not sure how Atlantic's cart updates, but apparently there are only three in stock.  I'd do some quick reading and if you're satisfied, jump on it.

Atlantic also has a good deal on magazines.  Ten come to about $19.00 each, shipped.

If that CSA has the furniture and features you like, then it's a good deal.  If you just want a VZ58-type rifle, and like the original furniture, then I'd search Armslist, Gunbroker, and Guns America for a local source for the VZ2008.  The VZ2008 may not have as choice a selection of surplus parts, but even my ugliest, most beaten, most patched-together VZ2008 works perfectly.  They were going for about $600-700 last time I checked, then about $75 to get the carrier tabbed and about $30 for a decent muzzle device.  If you're going to change out all the factory furniture, then the with the rising price of VZ2008's the CSA is probably a better deal in the long run.  To make the CSA practically 922r compliant -- removing dependence on the follower and floor plate -- it would be about another $100 for a US-made piston and FCG, if you can find them.  You could also buy a bunch of polymer floor plates and followers, but that gets into diminishing returns the more mags you buy.

Another advantage the CSA has is the chrome-lined barrel and nitriding.  For semi-auto, heavy-hobby use, however, I don't think that the non-chrome barrel on the VZ2008 is an issue and will probably out last the owner, especially if there are other guns in the safe of any sort to cycle into range rotation.

Is Atlantic Firearms the only source for CSA VZ58?

Czechpoint-USA is the usual source.

If their cart updates accurately, they've only sold one since last posting and have two left.  That surprise me as these are usually drooled over.

Yeah, if I wanted the CSA VZ-58 in this configuration, I'd jump on it. Atlantic is a reputable dealer and this is as good a price as from Czechpoint when they are available, which is sporadically.

Is this new that Atlantic is offering CSA Vz58s?  Czech-Point (exclusive importer?) normally sells out in a couple days after they bring in a batch.  I wonder why Altantic was given some of the inventory to offer, as Czechpoint would obviously have given up some margin.

The post above is opinion, and I am probably totally wrong, so please pardon me if I offend anyone in any way. I am speaking only for myself and just sharing my thoughts, not trying to start an argument with anyone, and if you disagree with anything I have said, I concede your correct.

I seem to remember that they used to carry the VZ2008 but I'm not certain of that. I see they are carrying them now, as well as these CSA builds. Choices! It's nice to see movement in the Vzor-eight world.
