FDE BREN Carbine
« on: April 19, 2016, 01:33:25 PM »
Hey guys --look on GunBroker.com --- there are four FDE BREN Carbines for sale (there were 5,  I just bought one)  The dealer says they are in hand and ready to sell.  The dealer is deguns.net and they have nine left as of now on their website.  I just noticed they are $100.00 less on their website than what I just paid ----oh well, freaked and have to have one immediately !!!!

There are more starting to pop-up on GunBroker now.   One dealer is advertising a black one now too.

Grab-A-Gun has the black carbine for $1,777.58.  I just ordered one.   ;D

I got one of the black rifles too.  Lot faster than dealing with NFA rules, delays and marking requirements of converting a BREN pistol to a short barreled rifle.  Just an unrestricted, if expensive, modern rifle.

Does anybody know what the difference is between the "retro" magazine well special that CZ-USA has on their webstore (magwell with 5 mags special) is and the "regular" BREN magwell?  Do both take same mags?

mikec ----the "retro" magwell takes the EURO AK style rock and lock mags.   The Brens you buy here have the NATO magwell that takes AR-15 type mags.   The magwells are interchangeable, but you have to use whichever mag that corresponds to that magwell.

Hey guys --whether you are interested or not --go on GunBroker.com and search under "CZ BREN".   At the moment, the only Bren carbine for sale is by Nashville Gun Shop ---- but they have 32 close up pictures of the new FDE BREN

the "retro" magwell takes the EURO AK style rock and lock mags

so does it fit e.g. Sig 550/551 mags?

mikec ----- I don't really know if SIG 550 mags will fit, but I don't think so.     I think only CZ mags will fit their EURO magwell---the "rock and lock" just being the type of magwell.     I swear I read somewhere that HK G36 mags might fit it--but not sure.   Hopefully someone else adds some more info for you.

Put the first 1000rds thru my S1 Carbine yesterday, and it was nothing less than the perfection I expected (and that I am used to with my PS1)...  Dialed in the BUIS, then the Aimpoint Pro for the RDS optic at 50 meters, and accuracy was very good out to 150 meters...  what an awesome weapon system and a pleasure to shoot.  Also, just an off-hand fyi that the new MagPul D-60 drum when inserted does not allow the stock to completely fold...  it hits the drum body before reaching its detent at the full-folded position...

Nifty! It IS a total joy to shoot, just like the Scorpion, that is absolute truth. I don't have optics yet, just the BUIS. I do need to get the correct front sight tool. :)

The sight tool is handy, but I just used the tip of a 5.56 round to adjust my front post for elevation...   ;)
