CZ82 from Aimsurplus trigger problems
« on: April 19, 2016, 10:52:53 PM »
Hello,
I just picked up this pistol from my ffl and when I got home I dried fired it and after the first time in DA the trigger didn't reset properly? Im thinking that because the trigger doesn't pull the hammer back anymore. It's like when you put the safety on a Beretta 92 and the trigger is "dead" and so that this point I use my index finger to push the trigger forward slightly until I hear a click and then the trigger becomes operational again.
Also, sometimes when I pull the hammer back it doesn't stay back.
Does anyone know what the problem is and how it can be fixed? Initially I thought someone put a trigger guard that's slightly bigger? If that's even possible, because when I pull the trigger guard down to disassemble it and then dry fire it the trigger resets fine.

1) The gun is probably extremely dirty inside. These little pistols are very difficult to reassemble when detail stripped, so be careful if you need to go that far.

2) These pistols sometimes have worn out trigger disconnected and it causes them to have issues in DA mode. The disconnection is cheap and easy to replace if it is the issue.

Well, I took off the grips and used a bright light to look inside where the trigger bar and it looks clean. And this also happens in SA.

Also, when I push the trigger forward the trigger bar moves up just a tad.
When I squeeze the trigger and instead of slowly letting off the trigger, I slide my finger off slowly until the trigger springs forward and that resets the trigger.
Also where can I find information on how to replace the trigger disconnection?
Thanks again for everyone that helps me out !

Also, when I put pressure upwards on the trigger guard, the pistol dry fires fine.
I'm learning these things right now since I'm messing with it at the moment.

This is an update, so I took off the trigger guard and the part that made actual contact against the trigger was preventing the trigger from fully extending forward to reset.
So after taping it up, I took a file to it and took off VERY little from the trigger guard. And so now the trigger fully extends forward fixing the problem.
Although maybe every 10 times I manually cock the hammer, it doesn't catch.

I have the same problem with the one I just received from them.  I emailed them and they are not getting back to me.  I do not know enough to take it all the way apart myself and then end up messing it up.  I waited for a long time for these to come back in stock and then I get it and it does not work.  Hopefully AIM will stand behind what they sold but right now it is not looking like it.  Looks like the batch they sold had some issues.  Looks like this one will be sitting in the safe until I can figure out what to do with it.  Glad you were able to figure yours out.

I had an issue with my 82 a while back. It kept returning to DA after each shot. It was the disconnector. However knowing what a pain they are to take apart. I contacted CZ USA. They said send it in and we will fix it. Took about 5 weeks. They fixed it and upgraded another part as well. Now it shoots and runs great. Can't remember how much it was but they will give you an estimate. Just thought I share this with you guys having issues with this fine gun.

Often surplus Military and Police firearms have cosmolene or dried grease, oil, and gunk in the action.  I had an Israeli Police trade in P35 Hi-power (Hungarian contract) that had similar issues.  There was dried gunk in it.  I used spray brake cleaner to cut the crud.  Field strip, and do this to slide and frame without grips.  Spray it well, let soak, then sprayed again and use a soft tooth brush.  Spray again, soak, and use air to blow it out.

Also, if you know a mechanic, their parts degreasing sinks work really well, as does letting it soak in a stainless steel pan of warm kerosene or diesel. Brush and blow dry.

I did contact CZ on the issue and they stated they thought it was the disconnector also.  $95 (minimum) plus any parts,  plus shipping to them.  They also said they do not have the parts yet and did not know when they would get anymore.  Not sure I want to wait forever or not.  AIM is willing to refund me everything.  Not sure what to do.  I really want the gun but not sure if will end up being more of a headache in the end trying to fix it.  Plus I cannot find an FFL in my area to ship the gun for me to save some on the shipping.  It will probably cost about as much to ship it as to fix it if I cannot find one.

I had the same problem with mine from AIM, no SA when  fired and only got SA when manually working the hammer and shaking the gun. The gun I received had rust inside, but looked like it had never been fired. I want to paint it OD green so I stripped it down and there was NO sear spring installed. I have ordered the springs and a couple of other parts from CZ-USA. I was very surprised to not find a sear spring.

Finally got time to reassemble the CZ 82. NOW HAVE NO ISSUES WITH SINGLE ACTION OPERATION WITH THE NEW SEAR SPRING. Glad to finally have a CZ82 of my own!
