Brand new CZ82 mag problem
« on: April 23, 2016, 10:48:40 AM »

Purchased three new CZ82, got them today.  The mags will insert, but when I press the mag release the mags won't come out unless I pull on them.  Is this normal?  I got a few older mags that will drop free.

Sounds like U got some bad mags, there are a bunch around which were made about 1-2 yrs ago and are marked CZ but they are not and most of these dont work proper even when shooting (attempting) to!

Are these the ones that say "CZ Factory Magazine" on the packaging and "CZ mfg" on the magazine itself?

If so, those are unfortunately not actual CZ-UB magazines. The real vz82/CZ83 magazines are available from CZ-USA.

Mine did that and still does with a new mag. If I press the mag release on the right side (for left-handed shooters) it falls right out. Since I am right-handed, it makes it a bit awkward. The older mag falls out pressing either side. Apparently, the side that was used most has enough wear to be sloppy.

Mine had a similar issue so i put a little grease on the magazine and inserted it.  When I removed it I could see a streak on the magazine were it was rubbing.  Turns out it was rubbing on the grip near the screw hole.  I removed a tiny bit a of material and now it drops free.

Try removing the grips and see if the magazine still sticks.  If it falls free then try to determine how the grips are affecting the magazine.
