Just started doing steel shoots and I am loving it.  Now to upgrade the Uncle Mikes holster to a competition one.

I've been looking at the Ghost Stinger holster and their belt for starters.

What are the pros/cons of the Ghost Stinger to the other similar holsters?  I see there are different belts that some say are firmer/softer.  Again, what are the advantages of each?

There are no gun stores around here that carry any competition stuff for me to even look at.

Thanks for your time!!!!

If it goes "boom" or "vroom" I'm intersted.

I would just buy a belt from the Ben Stoeger pro shop website.  The double alpha/ ghost pouches/ BladeTech holster on a boss hanger is pretty much squared away from the start.

If you're shooting with iron sights,  I agree with Dave.  I need the boss hanger,  but just haven't got a "round tuit'.

Dave,

Thanks for the advice!  To help fill in some of my ignorance, what are the advantages of the Bladetec vs Ghost stinger holster - or visa versa?

Thanks again!

It's all personal preference.  A good stiff belt is a must.  I have been using a CR Speed with a boss hanger, ghost 360 pouches,  and a blade tech holster.  I can find no fault with any of it. I am thinking about buying a safariland leather competition belt since Mr CR Speed is about worn out.

levellinebrad, Thanks for the input!  Why go with a safariland belt, why not just replace the CR is you were happy with it?   That question probably shows my ignorance about this stuff - sorry!

I think the leather may be more durable in the long ruin.

A quality holster will work about as well as another quality holster.  Stay away from leather lined because humid days makes the leather swell and can stick to the gun.  Both are quality holsters the difference is probably nuanced.
