OK, it's been a while for me, so I'll get it started here. I shot two different brands of ammo, CCI Standard Velocity and SK Rifle Match. I shot two targets with each brand. Here is the best target from each brand. It started to rain after the first target, but I was under roof, so no big deal. It was a bit breezy, but the range is fairly protected by trees, so I don't think it had any affect on my shooting. The diamonds are pink because my printer is out of yellow ink.

CCI scores were 113 & 106
SK scores were 108 & 96

CCI std Vel 40gr LRN

SK Rifle Match 40gr LRN

As always, double check my scoring, some of those are very close.

It felt good to spend some time at the range again, but I am a bit rusty, especially with the handguns.

Yeah, but it is so close, I am wondering if paying twice as much for ammo is worth it. The tightest groups are with the SK, but averaging all of the groups, I get an average of .55" with CCI, and .52" with SK. that is .03" difference, 1/32 of an inch. I think I paid $85 for 500 rounds of SK, and $40 for 500 of the CCI. I am going to stretch the distance again, I know I posted earlier that It seemed the CCI did better for me at 50 and 100 yards, but I didn't document those targets  :-[

Wow.  Personally, I'd opt for the CCI.  You're saving money and it's 0.03" difference.  BTW, that's some nice looking open sight groups!

Try some SK Std + or Wolf target or some Geco.......about $6 a box and very accurate in some rifles.  CCI SV does very well for me in a lot of different rifles.
Shooting with my kids and grandkids....that is a fine time.

Thanks, Jedman7.

So as not to clutter this thread with a side topic, I started an new thread with some comparison photos between SK Rifle Match and CCI Standard Velocity. http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=79852.msg581857#msg581857

I shot this last night.  Probably not a fair entry as this Trainer w/ Brno sights and a Klinski stock is just wicked accurate. I should have shot a stock CZ with iron sights but was excited to try this gun I just finished putting together.  I have surgery later today and can't shoot for a few weeks.   Probably as good as I can and have ever shot.   Maybe 145....several shots thru the same hole.

I didn't shoot anything like Rimfire.

CZ 452 Lux Brno sights.

IMAG0135

That is 3 holes in the top left diamond.
I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.

]I just feel lucky I got to shoot this target.   Had brain surgery yesterday morning  and was thnakful to  actually wake up in a recovrery room...      Hope it does not mess up my shooting      Mostly It am thankful to be alive and have the family I have,  a angel of a wife, 6 kids and 13 grandkids.  She supports my 22 rifle habit and they all enjoy shooting with grandpa.

Shooting with my kids and grandkids....that is a fine time.
