Not at all, you wouldn't know it was there unless I pointed it out to you

I know the bolt was unnecessary, but the guy had been engraving Scorpions that way, so I said what the hell. Maybe should have gone with one over the other, but having both doesn't bother me.

Heres mine

I was thinking about having mine engraved in that same location, out of the way.

I'd post a pic but I'm embarrassed to say I don't know how.

CS223 on AR15.com does top notch engraving work and pretty good prices.  He has done a few AR's for me and I will be sending my EVO to him next week. I'll post some pics when I get it back and his turnaround is usually a week.

I got mine done directly below the "CZ-USA Kansas City, KS" in a similar size/orientation. Looks factory.

Same place, same way.  Dropped it off with Ident Marking in Rockwall and they had it, and 2 AR lowers, done within 20 minutes.  Good people.

So am I able to just drive up and have them engrave my items or do I need to make an appointment?

http://www.veritasmachiningllc.com was able to laser engrave my scorpion on the factory serial number plate...Not sure why others aren't going this route unless your engraver can't do it there....

That's sweet. What was the cost and turn around time?

I believe he charges $40-45 each for basic NFA engraving and the turn around time for me was about 15mins since I drove to his shop and waited while he did it! I had him do a bunch of work for me so we negotiated a diff price....

If you ship to him(he has an FFL for this reason), his turn around times are usually around 5-7days depending what the job entails and current work load. He can do very intricate artwork and what not as well(lots of examples on his site). Good honest guy that's been in the laser engraving industry for 10+yrs and now works for himself doing it. If you're in MI, see if you can just drive by and have it done while you wait.

They do drop-offs on Tues/Thurs from 5pm-7pm.  If you call them you can set an appointment.

According to federal law the trust name and location have to be engraved with letters no less than 1/16 inch tall.  Most people live in cities with more than four letters in their city's name and it won't fit in that location.  I guess you could say, that's a benefit to being in Hell.

Mine is right above and in line with the original CZ-USA marking. Similar font and looks great.

Coincidentally I was getting a suppressor engraved yesterday and the shop had a cut out section of a scorpion from cz-USA of a scorpion for reference.

I think the only thing that is required to use 1/16" tall font, is the SN.

You can look here https://www.atf.gov/file/4881/download for what markings may be adopted in the making of a SBR

You can look here https://www.atf.gov/firearms/firearms-guides-importation-verification-firearms-ammunition-firearms-verification-overview for the required markings specifics.

Note, it states...
Q: How must licensed manufacturers and licensed importers identify firearms, armor piercing ammunition?

    Firearms. You, as a licensed manufacturer or licensed importer of firearms, must legibly identify each firearm manufactured or imported as follows:

    By engraving, casting, stamping (impressing), or otherwise conspicuously placing or causing to be engraved, cast, stamped (impressed) or placed on the frame or receiver thereof an individual serial number. The serial number must be placed in a manner not susceptible of being readily obliterated, altered, or removed, and must not duplicate any serial number placed by you on any other firearm. For firearms manufactured or imported on and after January 30, 2002, the engraving, casting, or stamping (impressing) of the serial number must be to a minimum depth of .003 inch and in a print size no smaller than 1/16 inch; and

    By engraving, casting, stamping (impressing), or otherwise conspicuously placing or causing to be engraved, cast, stamped (impressed) or placed on the frame, receiver, or barrel thereof certain additional information. This information must be placed in a manner not susceptible of being readily obliterated, altered, or removed. For firearms manufactured or imported on and after January 30, 2002, the engraving, casting, or stamping (impressing) of this information must be to a minimum depth of .003 inch. The additional information includes:

        The model, if such designation has been made;

        The caliber or gauge:

        Your name (or recognized abbreviation) and also, when applicable, the name of the foreign manufacturer;

        In the case of a domestically made firearm, the city and State (or recognized abbreviation thereof) where you as the manufacturer maintain your place of business; and

        In the case of an imported firearm, the name of the country in which it was manufactured and the city and State (or recognized abbreviation thereof) where you as the importer maintain your place of business. For additional requirements relating to imported firearms, see Customs regulations at 19 CFR part 134.

I've used Veritas several times (great people to deal with), and the font size on my trust info is smaller than 1/6"

Take care,
Bob S.
