For those not on the list of just impatient like me, Home Depot has a 3/16 Hard Steel bit at most stores that works for this job. took me literally 10 seconds to drill out the weld with this Bit. for $3.

You had better luck than I did. I tried the Cobalt bit from Home Depot and after about 20 minutes it barely made a dimple in the weld.

Grabbed a cobalt bit from the hardware store for $2, took about 20 seconds to drill out going slow. Thanks for the tip!
