ID,  it was posted here several years back,  and I can't find it. :-[
It was with an SPO1 shooting 115gr HAPs.
Maybe someone (Stuart?) can help my failing memory.

The biggy was the CZ winning an event at a Major National Shoot.
I thought is was the Bianchi,  production semi-auto class,  but no joy finding it.
The CZ Big Name shooter, gun and ammo info was given,  and a HAP bullet was used.
It was discussed quite a bit here.

I remember that one.  I think the shooter was someone who also does CZ gunsmithing commercially.
Instead of 40 Cal,  I think it was 9mm.  My memory isn't very reliable. Good job finding that one.

Here's what I found....

If I remember the conversation correctly he shot 225 HAP bullets and silhouette.

"225" has to be the quantity, not the weight.

Makes more sense than a 225 gr bullet...

'cept a competition would require way more than 225 rounds.

No, no, with 1 and 2 being adjacent to one another on the keyboard, I suspect that 225 was a type-o, and it was supposed to be 115.  ;)

That 115 HAP has produced the smallest groups I've ever shot with my Shadow Line.  And Silhouette is a super accurate powder. So that combo sounds about right.

I don't know all the details of skills and scoring, but I know Bianchi Cup is a little different than normal action shooting.  Accuracy out to 50 is meaningful on some stages, so a little more accuracy for a little more recoil makes sense.

Using your logic then, isn't it more likely that there was only a single typo, wherein "225" becomes "125" ??

I'm not questioning your assertion on ultimate accuracy, because you are "the real brains of this outfit", only commenting on how you got there.

Maybe?  But when I'm hitting the same key twice, I don't lift it and find the key again, so my assumption would be that on a double strike on the same key, they're either both wrong or both right.

THAT SAID ;) while I have never shot it, my understanding is that  the .356 125gr Hornady HAP is an awesome bullet, as well, so if 125 was the intended weight, I wouldn't argue against that load either. ;)

I can confirm that Hornady 125gr HAP is outstanding bullet and 2" at 50m accuracy is very possible, although my match load for bullseye is with different powder.

Of course, I say this because I have a Boy Scout merit badge as my icon, while you managed to fit in a faithful dog AND a good looking bikini-clad derri?re. Now that takes brains.

Thanks guys,
At that time,  the Bianchi results and details were available on line.
I looked it up and found data for the shooters' pistols and ammo used in the match.
It listed the CZ  using the 115 HAP.

I remembered because of the 115gr instead of the 124/125 I expected to see.

Federal has a reputation as dirty ammo.  However you were going to clean you gun anyway, right?
My SP-01 has digested everything that I have put in it.  Personally I like the 124gr bullet and, since I load my own about 100 fps slower that the usual factory stuff (1120fps) it is pleasant to shoot.  It probably would not make the power factor for competition but it does make holes in the target.

(124 x 1120) / 1000 = 138.88

You're well above the minor PF floor of 125, so compete away!

Just hit close to 1k rounds of Speer Lawman 124g TMJ downrange. Not a single malfunction out of my SP-01.

I also put about 100 rounds of Federal HST 124g and not 1 malfunction with that either.
