75 compact at range
« on: May 30, 2016, 10:44:17 AM »

Second range trip with gun, put 100 rounds through it the first time, ran well but did not like the plastic grips.
Put on a pair of VZs big improvement in gripping the gun, they are a little thinner with a nice texture. at twenty yds was hitting a 8" gong every shot slow fire rapid fire 8 out of ten mostly. Same size gong at 50 yds 6, 7 out of ten. One great shooting gun, recoil was real manageable. Put 300 rounds through it had one stovepipe? Don't know if it was front thumb rubbing the slide or something else.

Sometimes you'll have a misfeed in the first 500 rounds or so. It happens with every pistol, manufacturer even if their fans claim it doesn't. Nothing to lose sleep over.

Otherwise, glad you had fun.

Figured I'd do a IDPA shoot with it and see how that goes, get a better fell for how the gun cycles.
Definetly not a lot of rounds through it yet.

My only gripes with factory CZ pistols are the sights and the grips. I definitely agree with changing the default grips for VZs; I've got dark red VZ frags on mine.

Grips and sights are a personal preference more than a design defect. I like the factory plastic grips better than anything else I've tried. I like night sights so those got swapped for mepros.

Was thinking about putting on the truglo TRX sights, they look a little bulky, overhanging the slide quite a bit?

From the pics I've seen they do appear a bit bulky. They do seem to be well like by those who've used them though.
I'm satisfied with the Mepros I installed but it's great to have options as we all have our own preferences.
