I have a SP01 Target 2 9mm and love it, got it in Jan.  Have about 6K rounds through it.  I will be using it for steel shoots.

What parts are wear items that should be replaced at certain intervals and what intervals are they?  I'd like to get them now, before I need them.

Anyone have any other parts that are not "wear" items, but recommend keeping on-hand - or you wished you had them on-hand?

Thanks!
Dan

  • So many guns, so little time
I shoot about 12k rounds a year and dry fire 5 or 6 trier pulls for every live round.

Replace your stock trigger return spring right now.   Use one from Cajun Gun Works.  I change it every 6k rounds.  I have several on hand at all times.

I also keep an extractor, extractor spring, firing pin, firing pin spring and a slide stop.   All of these get changed yearly.
Don't mistake my high post count for knowledge or wisdom.   I just like hearing myself type.

Definitely have a spare Slide Release.   It will eventually break.  Mine seem to last 20K +/-  rds and then break near the center of the shaft

The newer trigger springs from CZC or from CGW run longer for me than the old originals did.  Having a T.S. on hand is a good thing.

My two 75s  haven't ever broken an extractor spring, FP spring or FP.  They both have extended FPs and the springs they came with.  Maybe just lucky.

You might also want to add CGW's Floating Trigger Pin to your order. It sure makes changing trigger springs a lot easier especially if you are at the range or in the middle of a shoot. That is if it has the stock flanged trigger pin in it now.

The firing pin also shortens over time. Every 20k rounds is a safe point to replace it and the firing-pin spring if you're also doing daily dry fire.
