Those of you with the Rami and PCR how significant is the size difference in the two for IWB carry?

Also, can the rattling Rami mag issue be fixed? That will really bother me if the mag rattles all the time like it did on my SP-01 with stock mags.

I don't have my IWB for the PCR yet (should arrive any week though), so I can't comment on that. I did stuff the PCR in the holster my RAMI lives in and I found it comfortable. But that was with it riding a bit higher (trigger not fully protected). Since I favor a cant, I don't think the length impact will be that great. Weight impact is negligible. The most important part for carry comfort is a good holster, not the gun.

Regarding the rattling, as I said in a different thread, I find it to be a non-issue. When I load my RAMI up, I insert the mag, chamber a round, decock, eject the mag, top it off with one more round, and give it a slap. At the time, there is no rattle. I insert the mag, and it starts to rattle a bit. (I think the mag release is nudging a round. Then I holster it, move around, and the rattle is gone. Alternatively, I can shake the gun a bit, and the rattle is gone. That is with a 10 round magazine and Hornady Critical Defense ammo. But I'm reasonable sure the same applies to other ammo.

I think folks just get to worried about "the RAMI rattle". It's not clinking around all the time you walk about. In fact, any holster noise (being is Kydex or leather squeaks) is more pronounced than any sort of rounds rattling in the magazine.

That's at least my experience.

Don't have the PCR but the P-01 and I carry OWB. The only difference I see is that you may print more with the grips on the PCR due to the size. I generally go with a loose fitting outer shirt or sweatshirt so it is no issue. I am running a Don Hume JIT Slide cut for an XD45 which I bought for my XDM 40 compact. To my surprise, every CZ I have - RAMI, P01, CZ 83 and 75B fit this holster. Never carry the 75B due to barrel length, but they all get their turn.

Both are excellent choices IMO. You have shake the heck out of my RAMI to get the mag to rattle.

I have the Rami and PCR. The Rami, with the 14 Rd mag, feels better in the hand. The PCR is a little more accurate. When carrying OWB, there is no difference.  The Rami carries a little more comfortably IWB than does the PCR, but I frequently carry the PCR all day with no issues. The PCR gets about 80% of the carry time, just because I'm a little more accurate with it past 25ft.
PTC, but Pine Mtn will always be home.

Thanks for all the replies.  I need to look at a few pistols, I think.

+1 for the rami... I have the safety version in the 40S&W

I enjoy the ergonomic design of the grip, the trigger is easily upgraded if the reach is to far.

I would recommend the 9mm version, I haven't found enough of a benefit for the 40 S&W over the 9mm (but I got it for a steal of a deal used... so why not add it to the collection.)

Another vote for the RAMI BD: its 3" barrel can be comfortably carried invisibly with tucked shirt at 12:00 IWB, and at 15 rounds it is without peer in the subcompact class with its soft-shooting 7075 T6 aluminum internal rails (i.e. accurate/low bore center) frame, legendary CZ ergonomics, CZ reliability, and Tritium TruDot night sights.  I love mine; it's almost as accurate as my CZ 97 BD: that is, incredibly accurate!

I love my RAMI.  That said, I do wish I had purchased the BD version of it.  But when I ordered it from CGW he only had safety models so I said screw it and hook me up.

    • Who is in the White House?
Nobody has suggested the CZ82 so I will.  12 rounds of 9x18.  Mine has night sights.

I also have a 75D & a P-01.  CC both, slightly prefer the D, perhaps due to no snag sights.

Two weeks ago, picked up a RAMI, safety version.  Conceals very well.  I don't shoot it as well as the others.....yet!  Could be because without pinky extension mag, my pinky is off the grip.  Trying to get used to placing it under the mag base.

I don't find much difference concealing these.  I use an Andrews IWB for the P-01 and an unmarked leather grab box find for all the others.

My preference, in order: 75D, 82, P-01, RAMI.

Any of these are great to practice with.  No range fatigue.

Almost forgot to mention:  Dan Wesson Guardian in .45ACP.  Is also available in 9mm.  I would rank it right after the 75D.

+1 for the RAMI. I took the time to wait for a BD to become available. Couldn't be more happy. Carry it in a Ryan Grizzle IWB holster.

Here is a side by side shot of my RAMI and P-07 Duty for size comparison.

Sorry to derail, but what is that on the grip of the p07?
