How much testing did you do at 50 yards? I found the same with a few guns at 25, at 50 there was a big difference in all of them, some as much as 3" in difference.
I have tested all loads at 50' first for function and select ones that have potential for accuracy. Next test and chrono at 50m. Last step is - the ones that showed good groups at 50m, I load and test few more times to confirm that good groups are repeatable. Because of our range/berms configuration, i have to skip 25yard testing now, but before, loads than didn't make 1-1.25" groups at 25 yards, didn't get tested on 50m. All those loads showed few single hole groups 0.75" or less at 50' first.
Also still loading cheaper PD 124gr FMJ bullets for indoor 50' practice understanding that 50m results will not be as good as with more expensive Hornady HAP. At my indoor range they prefer to see FMJ bullets, although they make an exception for me and allow me to test JHP, knowing that i don't hit their target hangers and cause ricochets.
I shot my best loads in local club BE matches. On yesterday match my best was 93/6X on slow fire 50m and a couple of 98/2X-3X at rapid fire 25m. Using Hornady 125gr HAP for the long line and PD 124 JHP with the same load at short 25yard, gave me results in the mid-800s out of 900 points for the last few matches. No clean targets yesterday, but i have done it before. This is my first year of BE shooting and reloading and I am still learning.
