I finally got to the range today and shot 165 rounds through my new P-07 FDE. The first magazine had one failure to chamber and it was a Hornady Critical Defense round, the 5th round in the magazine. I cleared the gun, re-loaded that particular round and from that point on I had no failures of any kind through the rest of the 165 rounds. I only used the 2 magazines that came with the gun but have 6 more coming in from CZUB. I'm going to change 2 of the magazines over to 17 rounders with the extended baseplates that came with the gun.
Ammo tested was:
Unknown hollow point (bullet was silver)
Hornady Critical Defense - my main supply of defensive ammo
American Eagle
PMC
S&B
I don't shoot for extreme accuracy any more due to poor eyesight (and I don't want to spend money on custom shooting glasses). All handgun sights are fuzzy at best so center of mass, within a 3" circle is fine with me (but those shots that go in the same hole sure are nice). I was able to achieve good defensive groups out to 25 yards so I'm happy.
I've owned/shot lots and lots of different brand handguns and must say that this P-07 is a soft shooter and the single action trigger was great. I'm just very much taken aback as to how a gun at this price point ended up being so easy and fun to shoot as well as being accurate. She's a keeper for sure and is tagged to be my carry gun.
Now to the bad part
I want another one for my house gun and thought I may as well get something a little different that I'll also use most of the time at the range. I have my sights set on a P-07 Urban Grey because I think the high night sights may work for me a little better at the range and would be fine for home defense if need be. I don't have a 9mm suppressor and while I love shooting my .22s suppressed, I think that buying a suppressor for just one handgun isn't too prudent for me (would rather buy more ammo). With that said, it doesn't hurt to have the second gun be a little different.
I've been known to buy "duplicates" many times in the past and could get another P-07 FDE but something about that darn Urban Grey is calling my name and I can get it for a little less than another P-07 FDE. I don't want fullsize P-09 because I always end up selling my larger guns in favor of the compacts.
Once I settle in with the P-07 I'll post some targets and more info on other ammo like Winchester White Box and some mixed defensive/hollow points that I have laying around, results of the 17 round mags, etc.
