Okay, so I have 2x 6/13, 1x 3/14, and 1x 5/14. Those are my 30 rounders. Mine came with 2x 10 rounders and both are 1/16.

FWIW, I'm sending back 9 cracked feed lip mags today.  5 are from January of 2016, and were all loaded and shot once, reloaded and then left to set for 3 days  (looked this morning and every one of them had cracked feed lips).  I had 4 that I called about which were cracked and from November of 2015.  Anyhow, apparently the January '16's crack also.  I have 1 from November 2015 which has yet to crack.

So, I have 5 more from Jan '16 that I just loaded.  Hopefully I can get a full set eventually that don't crack when I leave 'em loaded for a few days.

Steyr AUG mags can be left loaded indefinitely and they are pure poly (though much thicker).

The difference between a Scorpion mag and an AUG mag is the actual polymer used.

Befoer anyone says "why don't they just switch to the polymer used in AUG mags? "  FYI  the polymer on the AUG mag is about 5x as expensive, and you would need a different mold to make Scorpion mags out of it due to differing shrinkage when cooling of the two different polymers.  Molds are actually mad a few percent larger than the final product to account for that cooling shrinkage (really wild when you think about it).

I thought the EVO was in full-auto production runs for police for years prior to coming to the US.
How didn't this mag cracking issue just come to light now versus years ago?

I figure either they cracked but government didn't care because mags were cheap or they have been having problems with their polymer formula lately.

I recently (April) purchased 4 magazines directly from CZ.

Last week, I was loading up a few magazines with my carry ammo, when one of the feed lips broke along the length of the feed lip. I contacted CZ Warranty Support, and received this reply...

"We have an updated polymer that we started using about 4 months ago and we have eliminated the stress fracture issues. I can Only exchange out your damaged mags but not the other ones you have that aren?t broken. So if by chance the feed lips on your other magazines break before you send them in then I can replace them as well. Let me know if you have further questions."

I told them I found it interesting that just two months ago I ordered these magazines from CZ, and now find they changed the polymer four months ago to correct this issue, but are still sending out potentially defective products.

So - they DO have a issue with these mags, but they seem to be willing to replace any that have a problem. I plan to have several load/unload session this week to see if others will have issues.

Happy Monday,
Bob S.
You bought them 2 months ago and then they changed the polymer 4 months ago. Maybe trying to rid of excess stock? Also they may that 30 rounders are hard to come by. They could hold back selling to drive up demand increasing profits.

The polymer formula has not changed, guys, per the higher ups at CZ.

So there is currently no change at all then? I sent a cracked mag off to them on Friday, the only one I've had so far.

I've heard various tales.  Guy at CZ told me they'd supposedly fixed them now.

Loaded 5 good mags to shoot yesterday but didn't get a chance. Today, 4 are cracked at the corner below the feed lip on the side the top round is retained. One is 11/15, and the other three are 02/16 vintage. Starting to think the only way to leave a mag loaded is in the scorpion, so the bolt takes the tension instead of the lips. . . That or we need some sort of feed lips detensioning cap like pmags used to come with.

I have 7 loaded magazines and two of them show very minor interior marks, one possibly a crack. None of my magazines have failed. Used two more today, loaded to max and fired with no problems.
If you have magazine feed lips cracking contact CZ-USA who will replace them. I can say I have been told directly that nothing had been change to date. I have full faith in my Scorpion.

Grabbed one ready service mag at random. This one has been loaded approximately 6 months or more, 2014 production.

Must be nice.

Look below the base of the primer on the top rounds in your loaded mags.  Especially the 90 degree angle on the "U" that the bolt carrier slides through is where most of my cracks have started.  It would seem something has changed in their magazine manufacturing process assuming yours are not actually cracked.   If you're only looking at the feed lips, you may be missing this.

I've now had 17 mags crack and none loaded in excess of a week, some just over night.  I love the gun so don't think I'm bleep talking, an mpx guy, etc.
