ATF and SBR form question.

When you submit your SBR form, does the ATF immediately charge your credit card account or do they wait until they have approved your form?

Immediately for online, they'll even deposit your paper check within the week you mail it then throw it in the stack and let it marinate with the others for 5 months before they pick it back up lol. Basically you're paying right away either way I've tried

An e-file Form 1 is charged immediately. For paper, most people start the day counting when their check is cashed. So yes, they get your money then get to work on processing. If there are any issues and your Form 1 is denied, it can take up to 3 months to refund you the original $200. And you have to pay an additional $200 when you resubmit (since its a "new" Form 1).

Yeah when e-filing, you can't actually submit it until you've paid first. I paid one time then the website crashed or went down for maintenance or something. The next day I saw the charge on my credit card. I logged back in and thankfully the website saved everything so I just had to click the submit button.

I'm trying to SBR my CZ Scorpion on the ATF online eforms.  I'm having trouble finding CZ-USA as the manufacture tab.  I picked CZ on the drop down tab.  So the next tab shows only machine gun as the only choice verses SBR.  Don't know what to do.  Anyone have any idea what to do?

I chose that option but, still showed machine gun and no SBR on the drop down list.

Have another question, do you have to engrave the gun? And what happens if you move? Change of address?

Explain further please, cause I need to move again soon within the state. Not really wild about engraving a bunch of times. I just call or file a form?

Just out of curiosity.....what if you returned the gun back to its pre-SBR condition before you took it across state lines?

You can inform the ATF you wish to remove it from the registry and return it to non SBR status.
I forget if there is a specific form or if you just have to send a letter.

But if you wish to SBR it again, you have to redo the Form 1 and pay $200 again.

Yeah, regardless of how it started life, once it's made into an NFA item, it's now that item regardless of configuration. You can get permission for up to 12 months and it's free. Only items excluded from needing permission is AOW and suppressors.
