Scorpion Carbine Super Accurate
« on: July 03, 2016, 05:52:37 PM »
I bought a carbine recently, pulled it out of the box, and shot it at the range yesterday.  This thing was dead on out of the box.  This is a pic of the first 20 rounds straight out of the box with no adjustments to the sights at about 15-20 yards.  Really great shooter.  A bit heavy but enjoying it.

Looks good. I too had opportunity to get my carbine to the range.  My groups looked just like yours, only much larger. [emoji849]. When I put a low powered scope (1x), I am sure I will do better.  What kind of ammo?

I was hitting a 4 inch steel plate at 50 yards with the Carbine right out of the box with the default sights.  Went out to 75 yards and hit that 4 inch plate most of the time.  I do have a 100 yard set up at the house.

I really like the sights that the Carbine came with.

Agreed.  The sights are solid and different rear peep holes make it versatile.  I'm going to put a red dot on so it will be a tac driver.

A red dot will is in my future also, but I'm going to use just the factory sights for a while, as I first want to add a hand stop, rail covers:   https://www.magpul.com/products/m-lok-hand-stop-kit and  https://www.magpul.com/products/m-lok-rail-cover-type-2

and a light kit:   http://www.streamlight.com/en-us/product/product.html?pid=345

Those of you who have a Scorpion carbine, or pistol for that matter, are already familiar with this, but for those of you who are undecided about getting one, here is a good review of the carbine.    https://www.gunsamerica.com/l/7A493DF2-8A4A-4F63-97E9-F105AF4A8503/y5J3Q/20160704_BlogDigest_179.htm

Thanks, folks. I was going to skip the Scorpion EVO but the thread made me jump into ownership.  For those not aware yet, this past Friday, CA just passed one horrible law that made all magazine-fed centerfire rifles "assault weapons" that can no longer be purchased after 12/31/2016 unless one is law enforcement officer with a police department permission letter. The existing rifles will be registered and may not be sold unless out of state nor passed to heirs. Hope this trend does not spread to other states.  Yes, elections have consequences!

Lol, I'm sure it is, but these test targets leave a lot to be desired!  ;D

Mine shoots pretty well with a Primary Arms Microdot on it, but the trigger sucks. It seems the more I really try to "feel" the break of the trigger, the worse my shooting gets!

My carbine actually shot pretty well with the Perfecta rounds from Walmart.

I looked at that Guns America link and had to zoom in on the dummy suppressor.  The serial number is 1 off from my Octane.

That's what is awesome about this gun. It was dirt cheap. So go buy that amazing CZC trigger. It's night and day difference.

I put the HBI Spring in mine and polished all the internal parts which did make a difference. I have a bunch of AR's with Geiseelle triggers and think I'm going to spend the money on the CZ custom trigger as it still sucks from what I am use too.
