California compliant and non-compliant pistols
« on: July 05, 2016, 10:43:10 AM »
I am currently looking for another Rami D for sale online since it seems I may be losing my current one to my girlfriend or daughter. I am sure I will lose the battle to one of them, more than likely it will be daughter since my girlfriend also loves her and knows she has far less money to buy one than we do for her to get one if she really wants one. My question is that we live in a free state with no magazine restrictions but if I buy one that is California compliant for a great deal does that or is that pistol stuck using only 10 round mags forever or can I still get after market 14 round mags for it and use them? I am not looking to break any laws but just wanna know if this is possible or do I have to have work done to it so I can carry more rounds in it in Michigan?

Physically, the guns are no different.  Use whatever mags you want in accordance with your local laws.

Other than the mags, differences are usually in marketing and packaging.  There is nothing on the gun itself indicating it was sold as a CA compliant gun.

Once the gun is approved in CA, it is an involved process to change anything, down to color and sku.  Some companies put up with it, others just maintain a separate product line, most just sell guns elsewhere.
