gen 2 CZ 07 Shooting Low
« on: July 24, 2016, 03:33:55 PM »
Hey guys I did a search but did not find anything. I have a CZ 07 with the CGW sight kit installed ( https://cajungunworks.com/product/92080-low-profile-p-0709-sight-set/ ) It shoots low,I understand I need a lower front sight but nobody seems to have any in stock.  :( Being a Newb not sure if I can post a WTB over in the Want Adds but just wondering if anyone has any tips or ideals. I typically use a 6-0clock hold for testing and load development and realize if I hold center of mass it will shoot higher,,but I would still need to compensate more than I would like. Thanks for any help. I can post some target pic's from yesterday if ya want. I am shooting @ 7yrds/21 feet off hand so yes there is some "human" factor figured in but I was also shooting my SP-01 Tac and was drilling the black for the most part with the same hold and ammo. Thanks, :)

How different is the point of aim (bottom of bull) from the actual point of impact? I tend to use a 6-o'clock hold, but my target is usually 1" stick-on dots and POA=~=POI.
I don't look like my avatar!

Hey there,if I do my part its about a Inch or a tick more from the bottom of the bull. Its also left but I need to slide the rear over a bit. I installed these sights awhile ago and just kind of centered things up and went to the range with it. Unfortunately I bought a HK VP9 shortly after and have run that for the last 2 years until I bought my SP-01 Tac a month ago ! So I am getting back into my CZ a bit more !  ;) I didn't mention the Front Sight Height in the 1st post, on the CGW website it says it is 5.5mm front. I see 5.25 fronts but they are all out of stock @ CZ USA & CZ Custom. These are a fiber optic front which I like but maybe I can dig out the factory front and see what that is if I can't find a lower Fiber Optic one. Thanks again for any help or info !

A friend of mine and I were talking today about this ,only about about the fact that I was shooting High. he said if you were shooting low you could always sand off some of the top of the front sight which would bring your Barrel up.
Kinda makes sense to me but ,
If I'm wrong somebody please correct me just a thought I had.

You are correct but my front sight is a Fiber Optic,,so no place to really take anything off. I could hit the bottom of it but it could change the way it fits and it mite loosen up the fit some.I know I have it someplace but I have to find my original Factory Front and see what it is for size and height,it mite be just the ticket ! I really like the fiber optic though,,helps my ole eyes pick things up a bit faster !

Dawson Precision has several different sight heights and they have a sight calculator where you input target distance, group size and information about your pistol and it gives you a match. their sights are configured to hit with a similar hold as yours. I have Dawson's on both my CZ's.

Yes,Thanks for the info ! I had just looked at Dawson and did the sight formula thing so I am good to go now ! I should of looked them up earlier ! I'll keep everyone posted on how I make out once I receive the new sights ! Thanks again !  :) Actually when I look at Dawson they do not show a specific front sight for the 07 !  :-\ They kind of list them with the 09,,so is it safe to assume they both take the same item ??
