Are the 40p and P-01 Frames totally IDENTICAL ?

I am wondering if the receiver/frames for the CZ 40P and the P-01 are totally identical? From most everything I have read and researched, they are. CZ took the stock P-01 frame and mated it to a 40B slide assembly. Primarily the main difference between the two pistols is the difference in barrel/slide lock-up designs, with the 40P using the SIG ejection port lock-up, and the P-01 using the Colt/Browning system of barrel lugs. Anyone know of any actual frame changes to the 40P for the development of it?

As far as I know they are identical.

I have a P-01 and my brother found and bought a 40B upper on ebay for cheap and gave it to me. I fitted it to my P-01 frame and now can either run it as a P-01 or as a 40P (or put the Kadet on it).

I have both the 40P and P01, I have polished and upgraded both.  As far as I can tell the frames are identical.  They had leftover Colt slides and mated them to the "new" P01 frames.  It's a frankengun and I will keep it just for that reason.

My 40p is a tack driver.  My wife's p01 is OK but not as consistent as the 40p.

 To its credit I don't shoot the p01 that often.  I also don't shoot from a rest well so take this all as it is, internet banter.

Not perfectly, but nothing that affects functionality. The P01 frame will have a round dimple between the decocker and slide release. This is an additional slide release alignment mark for the B slide assembly.

You mean the 40P frame has a round dimple correct?  The round dimple is used in place of the rear slide alignment lines to insert/remove the slide stop.

The PO1 has the rear slide alignment lines as (I'm assuming) all current CZ's.

I have a .40 slide marked 75 Compact on a steel frame that looks like a P01 frame (only it's steel - not aluminum). I'd love to put a 9mm compact slide on it, but the only one I've tried (my P01 slide) is stopped by the ejector by just a tad. Anybody have any info on a steel P01 type frame (with light rail) with either a .40 or a 9mm slide on it? It is noticeably heavier than the P01 slide and magnets suck right up to it.

CZ made a steel frame safety model compact in 40SW. they never did make it in 9mm.

Stewart, do you have any advice on putting a 9mm slide on the 40 frame? I think my slide will go all the way on if I file down the top of the ejector so it fits in the channel on the 9mm slide, but I'm concerned about ejection when I put the 40 slide back on. Thanks

This thread makes me want to go and shoot my 40P today.  That, and I really need to replace the Hogues on it with something similar to the VZ grips I run on my P01.  Or, I could just stick the 40P slide on the P01 frame and enjoy the grips I have for the time being.  I love options.

I bought one of the steel framed 9mm with the rail that looks pretty much identical to my 40p and P01.

hmm, are you sure?  I see multiple references to a all steel framed .9mm w/ safety, I just bought one. I maybe wrong.. but, this is the same frame (only in steel) as my PO6 alloy framed gun , WITH as a thumb safety.  NOT decocker.  I may be mis reading your post.
