Lost Wallet/FSC today...
« on: August 12, 2016, 06:37:42 PM »
So I lost my wallet today, along with my Firearms Safety Certificate, Drivers License, 3 Credit Cards and my Debit...R I P
I heard its not worth going through the process of getting the FSC reissued. I've heard that it's MUCH easier to just retake the test again and get a new one.
So what happens with my old FSC # that's tied to my name? Does it just get overridden with the new FSC # I just applied?

Armoredman, the only thing that came to my mind was the Hunters Safety certification some states require to get a hunting license if you're under 21.

Ha! My bad... I didn't know other states didn't need it...
Well there you go, another reason California is TOTAL bleep.

In California you need to pass a general firearms safety test (from different types of long guns, handguns, etc) to get this little placard to buy guns..

Egad, sir, egad. Step to your left across the AZ border and come enjoy freedom. :)
Anyone here live in Cali and can answer this one?

CA use to have a Handgun Safety certificate that you had to obtain that involved a class and test. This was renamed, FSC, and expanded on 1-1-2015 to include long guns. Can you see where this is going?

Apparently people were still shooting things they weren't suppose to even though they took a test. Go figure, bad and crazy people doing bad and crazy things. A study guide is available on the CA Attorney General website in both English and Spanish; a fact I find odd, but not out of line for CA thinking.

If I lose my Firearm Safety Certificate can I get a replacement?

Yes. A replacement FSC is available only through the DOJ Certified Instructor who issued your FSC. The FSC replacement cost is $5. The replacement FSC will reflect the same expiration date as your original FSC.

Yea, call them up and tell them you're "Mr Farook of San Bernardino" and you need to get a replacement FSC so you can buy some more guns.

It probably won't even register.
