Replace you mean add lol. But I wanted to start shooting production and SSP . I tried it with g17 but just do not like the grip angle. I do really nice grip reductions on them so it's nice to shoot  but that puts me in ESP
Took few classes  with Mike  Pannone and he turned me on to the Cz.  So I finally went for it. Really looking forward to getting the gun. Trying not to think about the wait.

Yes, of course adding  ;)
I was wondering if you had used a Glock. I would like to spend some time with a G34 to see if I can shoot one.
Did not like 34.  17 had a  better  balance to me.  I shoot it OK just did not like I as much. Liked Xds  more. I have always been a  1911 guy.  And never had any interest in dasa guns at all until I  shot a sp01

I shoot a Shadow in IDPA ESP.  Cocked and locked is the starting condition.  The first trigger pull is easy.

I shot an SP-01 in SSP.  I would prefer a decocker for SSP.  The decocker doesn't drop the hammer all the way down.

In IDPA, I believe if you manually lower the hammer, you have to fully lower it.  Thus a safety model would have a slightly harder first pull.

Go Shadow and drop the hammer down for SSP or cocked for ESP.

Either way your trigger will be smoother than a stock gun.

Good call.  The decocker is what you want if you want to shoot SSP.  I've never gotten real comfortable lowering a hammer manually.  I've done it hundreds of times and have never had a ND/AD, but I'm just not comfortable doing it.

I shoot an SP-01 Shadow Safety Model 9mm in ESP for IDPA.
I also shoot a CZ 75 Compact in the compact division.  The compact is basically a compact Shadow after CZ Customs got done with it.

I love the ridiculously short trigger pull on both in SA.  DA on both guns is pretty awesome too.

I shoot the safety model in production. Lowering the hammer is no big deal. Learn to do it and practice doing it. It becomes second nature. I actually use my thumb to lower the hammer. Place it in front of the hammer, pull the trigger and roll your thumb up. Works well for me.

I lower the hammer on mine by pulling the hammer back off the sear with my left hand and then pulling the trigger and let it down slowly. Lots of ways to do it, it's second nature now, no big deal if done correctly.
