Not so easy to read that caliber on the front! Rant over.

Hah, I was trying to see where it said the caliber. Took me a while.

It is now plainly written only on one of the side flaps versus both flaps on the old box. Gotta be more careful with 9mm Lugar and Browning in the dark indoor range stall [emoji1]

They couldn't make it more obscure if they tried.

S&B must have been bought out by the US Government.

Why don't they just call it 9mm Corto?

The old S&B boxes stood out on a shelf full of ammo.  The new boxes are dark and dull colored and fade into the background.  Very, very poor marketing and branding decision.

However, I fully support the change because fewer and fewer people will be able to find the brand of ammo I like best!

I don't like the new boxes either--makes it kind of hard when looking down into my multi-caliber Wal-Mart ammo can to pick up the right box.

Manufacturers change things for a lot of reasons...maybe the older box color (bleached white base material) was getting more expensive as you can't use recycled "furnish" content?

Maybe some unscrupulous people in other countries had started counterfeiting the old style boxes (something that I worry about when picking up ammo at gun shows--how do you know you're not buying reloads that someone put into a box)?

I agree that especially for my "odd" caliber CZ's I pretty much use Czech Republic manufactured Sellier & Bellot exclusively as it is a trusted brand and holds the dimensions that work best on my CZ45, CZ52 and CZ82.

Something very similar to that happened to my late brother back in the mid-80s. He bought .303 British in a Winchester or Remington box at a gun show. The 4 rounds at either end of the box looked to be correct factory PSP. The 12 in the middle were lead bullet reloads, at least one of which was a squib.

I don't like the danger factor either.  Plus I miss the classic look of the old green, red and white.

S&B belongs to MagTech of Brazil, so the decision was probably made for them.

I'm afraid that by next year this time, we'll be happy to see any kind of ammunition, even if it comes in a plain paper sack............

Might be a marketing ploy to sell more ammo.

How many yahoos will buy a box of 9mm Kurz, get it home, find it won't fit, then realize WalMart won't take it back ?
