Yesterday when I was lubing my new CM9, I did notice that the pistol overall seemed tight. The manual safety is very hard to manipulate. I was wondering if the tightness might lead to reliability problems.
Today I took it to an indoor range and shot 50rds of Winchester 124gr FMJ NATO, 50rds of Remington 115gr FMJ nickel cased, and 50rds of Geco 124gr FMJ. The pistol functioned 100%. Spent case ejection was kind of weak, but they all cleared out of the pistol. Toward the end of the session, the slide did hesitate going forward a couple of times, but it did return fully to battery every single time. It appears to me that this was due to residue on the feed ramp. It's kind of surprising that there would even be residue on the feed ramp as the barrel appears to be entirely chrome plated. For me the pistol tended to shoot low and left. If I really concentrated, it wouldn't do this as much. I was shooting at 15 feet at saucer sized targets on paper. Accuracy was pretty good, certainly better than I expected. I'm planning on changing out the back strap to the largest size and adjusting the slide a bit. The tools to accomplish both these tasks came with the pistol.
Overall I really like the CM9 and think it's a great value for what I paid. I'd definitely recommend it. Now to find a couple of more magazines.
