Thanks coco, is that the full size Optimus, because doesn't it break down to a small can for 9mm.  Does your barrel stick out as much as the stock barrel would on the new pistol hand guard, as I assume you had yours cut, so could be shorter.    You have any other pictures from different angles.  Oh and thanks
My barrel is cut to 4.5". Stock pistol barrel is like 7.75". I went with 1/2x28TPI threads so I could use a short 3lug adapter vs a 18x1 3lug adapter that adds considerable length.

The Optimus is in the short configuration using the Revolution's 3lug coupling assembly. 9mm can only be shot in the short configuration(the rifle blast baffle used in the longer configurations is not bored big enough for 9mm...unless you bore it out yourself).

Don't have too many photos on hand but I do have these 2 other ones handy...First one shows how with the 3lug adapter, my muzzle is about 1/4" past the handguard.

Looks good.  Thinking of going pistol length and maybe shortening the barrel a couple inches.   Don't really want to have the muzzle to far into the hand guard.

Do you have any cycling issues with a 4.5 inch barrel? Do subsonic and super sonics load, and eject properly? I'm thinking of going that short with my barrel as well but I mainly only shoot suppressed with subsonics. Any input is appreciated.

No cycling issues at all! Cycles subs and supers just fine, with or without the can. I did NOT have to modify it to get it to cycle either.

I have a pistol length handguard on the way and plan on tucking my suppressor into it with a shortened barrel, but I'm worried about how much heat would transfer into the handguard.

Does anyone have their suppressor shrouded by the handguard that can post their experiences with how hot the handguard gets?

deadpair71 Check out the Military Arms Channel on Youtube. Mac has made several modifications to what was originally a Scorpion pistol. He now has a carbine handguard housing a suppressor. He reports absolutely zero heat problems with a shrouded handguard. That's the way I'm going, except Mac is using a stock carbine length handguard and I've installed an HBI free-float version, mainly because I want to use a 3-Lug mount and that's difficult with the stock handguard with its barrel nut. I have the carbine Scorpion now, and once my SBR Form1 is approved I can install a shorty barrel and I'll be complete

I do recall that video but am worried the thermal properties of the aluminum hbi handguard will absorb heat way more readily than the stock plastic handguard.

Only you'll be able to decide whether it's too hot for you I guess.

Myself, I can't ever remember a time when one of my pistol caliber cans were "too hot" to use.  I've warmed them up a bunch of times, but that's after some match courses run through them in full auto.  Still not "too hot" to use.

As for heat transfer with the aluminum handguard, lots of 9mm freefloat aluminum handguards on registered M16 lowers too.

I think you're worrying too much about nothing.

I probably am worrying too much lol.  All of my experiences have been from 5.56 suppressors so I have no clue on how 9mm will behave.

Thanks for the info!

We are getting close to production release on our extended polymer charge handles, it has taken longer than expected to get the mold and materials dialed in for both high performance and long life with the factory handguards as well as all types of aluminum handguards (both ours and from other manufactures). The "aesthetic" of the charge handle is intended to blend right in with all of the factory lines and shapes, completely inconspicuous, until you reach for it and realize that it is almost twice the surface area of the factory charge handle that you replaced. They are really slick. Again, these are pre-production images, final production parts will have black rods and some other very small cosmetic changes. We greatly appreciate the patience and understanding from the members here that have been waiting on these now for months. We will not disappoint.

Wicked. Glad you guys picked the subtle route for the polymer handle. Exactly what I was looking for.

I can't wait either. I have a red Delta that's useless now that I have your handguard.
