The only benefit aside from the sights that are standard is the decocker allows you to put it into "half cocked" DA mode without pulling the trigger to drop the hammer manually like you would/do have to do with your safety model. Aside from that one specific function the decocker doesn't do anything, meaning it will not act as a safety if you want it like that of a Beretta 92/M9. So if you're someone that wants to carry DA, but has an issue with pulling the trigger with a live round in the chamber to lower the hammer by hand and/or cannot think of any actual use for the safety, the RAMI BD or decocker model is right up your alley.
I prefer the safety model because I don't have a problem with lowering the hammer to half cocked DA to carry it, but unlike the decocker model it gives me a safety to use at the range if I want it, and it allows the possibility to carry cocked and locked in SA just like a 1911 for example. I also don't care for 3 dot sights, so I couldn't care less about the BD coming with the Meprolights cause I would likely be changing them anyway lol. I like how the safety will only possibly engage in SA mode, wich lets me carry in half cocked DA after lowering the hammer manually without fear or chance of the safety accidentally getting engaged in the holster.
