Correct Firing Pin Lengths
« on: September 14, 2016, 01:14:12 PM »
What are the correct lengths of both the factory and the extended CZ75 firing pin?
I will have mine out soon and might as well measure the OAL.
Not sure if my SA has the extended firing pin though.

The stock OEM firing pin length from my SP-01 that is unfired (before I Cajunized it) is reading 2.4400 inches with my micrometer.

Hope this helps!

I have a couple OEM and CGW firing pins for both the 75 series and the 97 series.  I also have one that I'm not sure where it came from, it may be a CZ Custom Extended firing pin out of my wife's PO1 but I'm not positive on that.

75 OEM:  2.440
75 CGW:  2.489

97 OEM:  2.558
97 CGW:  2.600

CZCustom 75???:  2.482

FYI your SA probably doesn't need an an extended firing pin.  You can run the OEM hammer spring with a competition hammer and get a really crisp trigger pull that is a reasonable pull weight.  Just a action polish and you will have an excellent trigger pull.

Cheers,
Toby

^^Good info Tdogg. I believe you are correct about the CZC FP length. Here is a reference pic of the factory and CZC FP i got from somewhere.

CZ 75SA
I had the firing pin out last night. It measured 2.435", which does not qualify, I think, as an extended version.
The fp spring had a coil or two clipped off which may account for the fp smearing I am seeing on spent primers.
I should have a new spring in a day or two to install.

From the CZ Custom website:
Quote
CZ 75B Extended Firing Pin
New Extended Firing Pin for better ignition. For CZ guns with firing pins held in by the cross pin (O.A.L. 2.475"). Use in combination with CZ 2075 Factory Firing Pin Spring. For even better results on hard primers.
