Yea. Just need to find one. I can get one without any mags for 559 plus tax and dros but a new one with 2 mags is 589

I was in the same situation as you , ie :  I have a good range of different hand-guns for different uses (Glock, SIG, Shadow, Match 22lr, 44 Mag Revolvers etc...) in France but I wanted a "one does it all" from target to practical shooting to leave & use when I am in the Czech Rep.  Based on my positive previous experience with various Cz Mdls,  I went for an P01 Omega.
As previous posts, I think it is a very versatile, quality pistol at a very decent price. Its ergonomics fit my hand like a glove.  Try one if you can & see how you get one.  So far I am extremely happy with mine & would highly recommend it.

$30 for two CZ mags is cheap. Why would you buy a pistol without mags?
I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.

Hi Pete,

Welcome to the wonderful world of "CZ Choices".

I guess the first question that you need to answer for yourself is: "What do I want to use the pistol for"?

There are different CZ pistols for each choice: 1. Personal Protection, 2. Home Protection (for this I recommend a shotgun, not a pistol), Competitive  Shooting, such as IDPA, Steel, Cowboy, etc. 3. Bullseye (timed events at paper targets). This issue narrows the field for you.

Calif. has an approved pistol list. Sorry, I don't know the exact name but check it out, it will limit what is OK to purchase in your State. Also some States have a limit to the magazine capacity. Find out if Calif. does; FYI, CZ offers 10 shot capacity mags as a no cost option.

Next I suggest you touch, feel & shoot different CZ pistols. Your hand size, grip may be different from mine. One of the CZ pistols I own is the CZ SP01 Tactical - it's heavier than the other pistol I have, the CZ 75BD. I prefer the weight of the CZ 75BD. Also the feel of trigger  can vary from on model to another. For instance the Omega trigger feel is nicer to me than the standard CZ SP01 trigger.  (In any CZ pistol consider have either CZ Custom or Cajun Gun Works work on the trigger. It will add greatly to your shooting enjoyment).

I'd post a request on this Board to request meeting a CZ owner in your area of Calif. to discuss the options & check out how they feel in your hands. If you were in the Myrtle Beach area of SC I'd take you out to the range to try my CZ pistols.

All the best,
Tony

So I found a used one for 600. The guy says it's like new and in excellent condition.  It's about 40 dollars less than new. Is this a good deal?

Sounds like a fair deal to me. You also save tax and background check fee, right?

I'd personally try to haggle a bit more.  Because it is used, perhaps you have some leverage?

FWIW, I see a couple of P-01s on ammoseek at $619 w/ free shipping.  There are even instances of new pistols for under $565.

He's in CA. They tend to bring a little more there when new #01199' aren't available., the prices you're quoting are for the 14 Rd version which is plentiful right now. Never hurts to negotiate, but if it's all he can find, the price is what it is.

It's only 35 cheaper so imma just wait for a new one to get in stock. Any of you guys have recommendations, on a grip, light and sight? I've been reading that those are the 3 main things I should get

Highly recommend gunbroker.com when you get tired of waiting.  New P-01's (aka 75D Compact with Rail) are going for as low as $549.95 + shipping, plus, you may be able to deal directly with a seller who can ship your P-01 with California compliant magazines.

I would call this seller next week and just ask them if they could do that for a customer in California.

Many of us here can speak from personal experience about waiting for our local dealer to get the CZ we want back in-stock: we waited awhile.  It took me over six months to get my hands on a matte stainless 75B.  I waited almost five months to get a PCR until I finally got tired of it and ordered a new one off GB.

I waited on a PCR. That's how I wound up with a P-01. Waiting for CZ's is a painful game.
