Cz 82
« on: September 17, 2016, 02:07:35 PM »
I had some free time today, I happened to be in the not so nice part of town and saw a pawn shop that had a big sign that said "Tons of Guns". So I couldn't resist. They Didn't have tons, but probably 50 or so. Mixed in on the shelve with rhe Jimenez and other crap I saw it. At first I did a double take. It was a CZ 82, in fair shape. They were busy and I didn't get a chance to handle it. But is was priced at $165. Am I wrong or is that a great deal?
I'll have go back a week day when there not so busy and handle it. But that price seems like a no brainer.

Making some rash assumptions about it being mechanically sound, it's a screaming good deal.

There is this saying that often gets touted: "If it seems too good to be true ... it probably is ...".  On the contrary ... if you have inspected it and don't see any glaring defects, I'd say this is a darn good deal.

If you don't buy it, I will!!!! Seriously though, if you don't see any obvious issues with it, go for it.

I'm going to go by the shop again tomorrow, hopefully they won't be crazy busy and I'll be able to look at it more closely. Hopefully it's a keeper.

Good luck and post some pics if you end up grabbing it.

I was finally able to get back into the pawn shop and take another look. Other than the "custom" finished slide, looks like they just polished off all the factory finish. It looked pretty good, Seemed to function ok, didn't look to abused.

I want to know if you bought it?
I think if all checked out you should snap that up. ;D
I have a CZ and some other guns.
I really want to have more. That's not a bad thing.

I was wondering as well.  I'm curious as to what the 'custom' work is on the slide.

Did you jump on it berts?

If the painted slide was stripped bare, some time spent with a cold blue product can give an acceptable look.

It has been well over four years since I have seen any CZ82 priced at less than $200.

Well I finally made it back to the pawn shop this weekend. They still had the CZ 82 for $165, it had no finish on the slide and was cosmetically rough. But the BIG problem was that they would not take the trigger lock off and let me check it out, even after I told them I was going to buy it....seemed odd so I left it looking all out of place next to the high points and jimez's

Seems to me that if they wouldn't take the trigger lock off they were hiding something.  I was an FFL for 25 years and never heard of such a thing.
