Question on Scope setup for a CZ 527 Carbine in 7.62x39
« on: September 23, 2016, 12:15:58 PM »
Would you go with the Scope rail that is made for this rifle
And low to med detach rings with this setup?
Not gonna use a big belled scope for one thing.
Or would ya just use Med height Steel rings made for this Rifle
in Detach or fixed rings.
I like the Rail as U can put just about any red dot or scope on this rifle
with the right bolt an scope front bell clearance.
One other question what rail would you use CZ's weaver rail #19010
Or rail made by DIP products?? Thanks all for any help in this matter...

I don't have a 527 but as a rule don't like rails on top of bolt guns. Limits access to the chamber and makes cleaning or just looking in there a pain. The only reason I installed one was to get the extra 20MOA built into the rail.

I've been using the factory medium rings on my carbine for several years. I hunt feral hogs year 'round and also take axis deer, whitetail deer and the occasional loose exotic game animal. I've never had a failure of the rings or loss of zero, even when a rock thrown by a utility vehicle smashed the lens of the scope on the the carbine at the time. I average 50 to 60 shots on game, with my carbine, every year and another 100 rounds or so at the range. The wife and I spend at least 2 weekends a month on the family ranch land in the Texas Hill Country. I walk several miles over the weekend carrying My 527 Carbine or an old Ruger 77 RSI in 250 Savage. Both of the rifles have fixed power 4x scopes mounted.

Here's the setup on my .223 527 Carbine for a 3-9x32mm, 1" tube scope. I use these rings: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/111233/warne-permanent-attachable-ring-mounts-cz-527-16mm-dovetail

I like a low powered fixed scope on the 7.62x39 version of this rifle. Here's my setup:
  • Leupold FX-II Ultralight 2.5x20 with German #1 reticle
  • Warne Medium QD rings
  • Triad Tactical stock pack
  • Scope Shield neoprene scope cover
  • Montana sling

Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make them all yourself.

Went with CZ scope ring ( a bit cheaper at Amazon  )
And Redfield Revolution 2-7x33mm

Good enough for my intended shooting range up to 200 yards or less

When i wanted to scope my 527M i wanted that Redfield Revolution 2-7 very badly...every time I had money, they were out of stock. Every time they were in stock, I was broke. I learned to love irons, and upgraded my rear sight to a custom Marbles adjustable.
audax, that is a very handy looking set up!
