Red Dot sight question
« on: October 02, 2016, 09:21:49 AM »
I may have missed this being covered.

Has anyone tried a Holosun PARALOW HS503FL circle/dot sight on their carbine? I'm looking at a second carbine for my wife and considering this sight. I have a Vortex Spitfire 1X on mine.

I have the HS503C on my soon to be SBR'd Scorpion.

I have put it on another SBR'd Scorpion at my LGS, and I really like it. I didn't use the provided AR riser, and it makes a nice, small & low optic for the CZ.

I really like the Circle Dot, but it's easy to switch to just a dot for those that prefer that option.

Hope this helps,
Bob S.

I have 2 holosuns and think quite highly of them.
I have the HS503G (primary arms exclusive reticle) on one of my AR's.  Ive swapped lowers, and taken it completely off the gun multiple times.  As long as I put it back in the same slot on the rail, it has held very close to zero, like 2-3 clicks of elevation change.  That's just with the screw on riser, not a fancy QD or anything.

I also have the HS503C and again, great little red dot.

I have a Sig Romeo 4C (made by holosun) it has the option for the dot or the circle dot. So far it's great. I've only had it a week, and two range trip (approximately 200 rounds).

I have the Holosun 403GL on my carbine and I like it so much that I'm going to replace the Strikefire II on my 5.56 carbine with one.  I don't like 1/3 co-witness so I used the standard high mount that comes with it and since the mount is hollow I can see the iron sights perfectly through it.

Thanks guys.  I suspected a 3moa dot might be too big at distances over 25 yards.

I actually liked the 3moa dot size of my TRS-25 best at 100 yards.

Picked up the sight at a local shop this afternoon. I'm impressed with the build quality. Now we need the carbine to put it on.

The wife is torn between a Scorpion carbine like mine and a Beretta CX4 with the 92F series magwell. We can pick up one of the "Russian over run" versions for $600. The CX4 is one of the PW Arms imported long barrel (1.75 inches longer than standard) with a manual that's in Russian or at least a lauguage that uses the Cyrillic alphabet.

I have no difficulty with the dot on the TRS-25 at 100 yards. The TRS-32, on the other hand, THAT is a big 5MOA dot, and is a problem at 100 yards for any type of serious accuracy. :)
