CZ P09 40
« on: October 12, 2016, 08:56:36 PM »
I just picked up my new CZ P09 this weekend.I cleaned and oiled it before going to the range.I put about 100 rounds through it with no issues. When I got home I cleaned and oiled it again. There was some metal shavings in it but nothing major.I was dry firing and noticed the right side of the frame would bow out when pulling the trigger in DA.It doesn't do it in SA.I swapped the decocker out and installed the safety. It help but it still bows out in DA.It's like the trigger bar is pushing the frame out.I contacted CZ and they said they haven't seen or heard of this issue. They want me to send it in for them to look at it but I don't want to be without a gun I just bought for 6 weeks.Anybody heard or seen this issue?

All things considered I would not think this abnormal, however the first thing I do on one is toss the stock hammer spring and install a GCW spring and extended fireing pin to get rid of the ridiculous heave DA pull and inprove the SA, so I never looked!

Reduce DA from 12? to 8?  SA from 5? to 4?

Parts cost what, 40-50 bucks or so and transform the gun!

I have a P09 in .40 and 9mm and neither one does any thing but drop the hammer when the trigger is pulled.  The trigger bar just moves back and forth not outwardly so I'm having a hard time envisioning what is going on with yours.  Could you possibly post a pic of what is happening?

I'm with Dave on this one. I also have the 40 S&W and the sides do NOT bulge out while pulling the trigger. I can't imagine how much pressure it would take to make the frame bulge like that unless it was defective. I would even caution against shooting it until it's thoroughly checked out.

A Springer Precision compensator.  Turned my 9mm P09 into an open class shooter, real hoot to shoot.
