« on: October 14, 2016, 10:08:38 AM »
Dear All hallo,
this is my first topic in the forum, after the presentation one, so I apologize if I wrote it down in the wrong session, I hope I don't.
Anyway, I've finally got a wonderful ZKK602 chambered in .375 H&H Magnum!
I would like to know something more about the history of this rifle, when it has been produced for the first time, for how long time, how could I know when the mine has been produced...
In CZ website, there are no info abotu this "golden oldie".
I thank you in advance for your kind attention and a big big thank to whom who will spend some of his toime to help me.
Best Regards
sandro

That's a great looking rifle in an outstanding caliber!

I like reading about old guns but I'm no expert and could be wrong about this:

The date of manufacture should be a 2 digit stamp next to the proof marks on the action.

I believe that is actually a Bruno rifle: pre-CZ.

The scope mount is different. Not sure I've ever seen that style. Is it fitted to the dovetails?

You don't see the flat trigger to much. I don't why or even a lot about them.

Is the front sight bead removable? Some models had a button that you depressed and you could change the size or type of the front bead. Cool idea on a DGR. Looks like it was grooved for a front hood.

Hi AZ_CZ and thank you very much!
Yes, me too, I think it'd a pre-CZ.
Tomorrow I will post front sight picture, I suppose there is the button you spoke about.
About the mount scope, it is the original one, only tings are 30mm instead of 25.
Best Regards

Hi Sandro

Congratulations on a fine rifle in what looks to be very good condition.

The ZKK series of rifles (600, 601 and 602) started production in 1966 and finished when the CZ rifles superseded them in the late 90's or early 2000's. Your rifle has the integral pop-up peep sight in the receiver bridge which means it was produced somewhere between 1966 and about 1976. After about 1976 they did away with the peep sight unfortunately. The earlier rifles with the peep sight are more desirable from a collectors view point. The later produced rifles were not finished off as well either.

The ZKK rifles were available in 2 different stock shapes.......like yours with cheek piece and forend tip etc, and a more classic shape with a fair bit of drop at the comb. The classic stocked rifles had the front sling swivel mounted on a band on the barrel which is regarded as better for a heavy recoiling rifle.

When new, each rifle came with 2 triggers......a normal curved standard type, and a straight set trigger like the one on your rifle........you can use it just like a normal trigger but you also have the option to push it forward until it clicks which means it is "set" and will now go off with a very light touch. They were designed for the owner to be able to change them over when required. On a rifle like the .375 I prefer the normal trigger so you might want to look around for one and change it over some day.  :)

The foresight blade can be changed for a lower or higher one by depressing the plunger button and sliding the blade forward.

Hope this info is helpful.

Cheers.
