Firing pin retaining roll pin fragile?

So, I've put a grand total of less than 200 rounds through my P-01.  I wanted to make sure it fired well before I upgraded it to pro-package CGW. It performed awesome in stock 9mm and with the Kadet.  So yesterday I broke down the lower and tonight I broke down the slide.  I "read" the stock firing pin retaining pin wasn't good and didn't think much of it.  But tonight when I removed it, it was already fractured.  Anyone else experience this?  Very surprising for a brand new gun with ~200 rounds through it.

Do you dry fire?  That can damage the pin if done without snap caps or other means of keeping the hammer from striking the FP that strikes that pin..

I would contact CZ.  At the very least,  I'd expect another pin.

I dry fired it, but not excessive.  I'd say 30 dry fires is a very conservative.  I don't sit there and just fire it over and over.  Plus I thought it was ok to dry fire it.  Didn't think I needed snap caps.  When I say this gun is new, it is.  I barely owned it.

I'm not asking CZ for anything seeing how I have a CGW replacement that will void my warranty anyway.

Thinking about it more, most of those 200 rounds where via the Kadet.  Over 100 of them....

The roll pin was also indexed in Just the wrong position as well, right on the split!

Was this gun an internet purchase or an in store gun shop purchase? Did you actually see the sealed case before it was cut open?
I ask because if this gun was a display model at some point it can be hard to know exactly how many dry fires it could have experienced before you got it.
I've seen the yo-yo's at the local range using the display guns for their own dry fire practice quite often. If I buy from them I make sure I get a gun in a sealed container or I pass on the sale.

Well, I got the pro-package fully installed but haven't put loctite on the trigger yet.

The break is clean on SA!!!!
The grittiness of the trigger is waaaaay reduced!!!! (And I didn't even polish)
The reset is so short.
There is virtually no over travel after reset (both SA and DA)
I can't say the DA is that much easier but it is way smoother and feels shorter.

Haven't shot yet so can't comment on it and the Kadet.  I'll hopefully get some time next week.

You know, you are right.  I forgot.  It was in the case.  Still, surprised it was broke.
