would you ever consider the:
CZ 75 Compact Safety version (no rail) A lot of difference from the PCR. Unlike the PCR, this has a steel frame, plastic grips, no chamber notifier, no lanyard loop and no snag free rear sights and and top slide is contoured at the front.
I have about ten different CZ 75 Compact variants and they all have the manual safeties. This is just because I prefer a manual safety and single action first shot over a double action first shot. The regular steel framed CZ75 Compact was my first. I bought it used, but in like-new condition. When I shot it I found out why the previous owner sold it. The recoil was sharp and brutal. I bought a 22Lb recoil spring and it shot like a completely different pistol. From there the addiction grew. So, to answer your question "would you ever consider", the obvious answer is yes. But, I don't want to make any assumptions about how you'll use the pistol. Do you want it for concealed carry, home defense, range use or all of the above? As much as I love the CZ75 Compact, I don't carry one because it's heavy and wide. I do have some aluminum framed CZ75 Compacts, but they're even a bit wider, though lighter. If I was going to carry a CZ75 Compact type pistol, it would actually be the Canik C100. It has an aluminum frame, but unlike the CZ's, the aluminum frame is not wider than the steel version. Based on the two that I have, I think the quality is every bit as good. I guess the Canik doesn't have the panache that the CZ has, but that goes out the window for me when it comes to carrying a pistol (FYI, I typically carry a S&W Shield). The SAR B6P Compact is also a great pistol (with sights better than CZ and Canik), but it's polymer frame is wide like the aluminum framed CZ's.
