Another Nutnfancy review of the P-09
« on: October 30, 2016, 05:55:52 AM »
A decent review of the P-09 series, especially the comparison with other competitive options. The 07 and 09 series have never personally turned me on because of their huge controls and blocky design, but they are excellent guns nonetheless. Here is the link, have a pleasant Sunday:

This guy didn't like the p0 7 failure to feed and none such must have been feeding it the wrong ammo.

I took mine to the range yesterday (P-09) and got the laser sighted for 15 yrds. Ran el cheapo steel cased russian junk ammo, no hickups. Going to opt for better ammo going forward, I buy bulk, not sure how closely I was paying attention before I bought the ammo. The gun is a beast. The laser pointed out a flaw in my aiming that I need to work on. Thanks laser.

A defensive gun should reliably feed any factory ammo. If he had FTF issues, then it's a defective gun, not an ammo issue. I quite like the P-07/P-09, and most people found them teliable, but it happens. We shouldn't make excuses for it out of brand loyalty.

I agree. My P09 eats whatever so no complaints here. I can confidently put some bleepty ammo in this thing no issues.

My P-09 is a '16 model and has proved 100% feed reliable with all kinds of ammo. The only limitation is OAL because of the short throat. It's the shortest  of all my CZ's by a few thou, so when I want to try reloading with a new 9mm bullet, I just use the P-09 barrel for drop and turn measurements. Mine has proved to be very accurate, soft shooting, and the SA trigger is fine with no mods. These guns are a bargain!

All three of my P series pistols are so tight that if they get the slightest bit dry on the rails, they won't cycle.  That happened to me a few weeks ago when I took a new shooter to the range to try out several pistols.  Open sight P-09 wouldn't run.  Hadn't had any use or grease or oil in months.  Lesson learned.  A few drops of oil on each slide rail and it was fine.  They ARE "tight"...and accurate, but mine won't run dry.  I'm not interested in any gun that will run dry, to be honest.

Do you guys do anything different when aiming with these tall sights? I'm having trouble being consistent. Some times I can make a bleep hole in the target, other times I'm sending stuff flying.
