20 rounds at 100 yards, no fliers, P-09 still amazes me.

We're done with bullseye matches for the year, so I got out the plastic P-09 and shot it at 100 yards.  Tried standing two handed at first, but I wasn't up to it after missing a few weeks, so I went back to what I do well, most of the time, which is making video and shooting from a rest.  Here is the best five shot group and an overview of the other 15 shots.

I'm going to clean it in late 2017.  Not needed right now.  :) :)

Joe, on Saturday I was shooting 8in steel at 200yds with mine, or trying! A buddy was spotting for me with his rifle. He kept saying things like 2 oclock two inches, 9 oclock 1 inch on the misses! The hit ratio was about 15-20 percent over 50 rounds.

Tried it with the Buckmark 22 and CCI 40gr RN mini-mag. Had a mag that was 5/10!

Still amazes your buddies!

Yep, the first thing to do shooting a pistol at 100-200 yards is to develop a positive mindset.   Once you conclude that it isn't that hard, you can relax and release the shot without moving the gun.   I had to get over my anxiety at 100 on a cold winter day when no one else was at the range.  I didn't want any witnesses.  Same at 200.  Now I want witnesses, LOL.

The difference between shooting at 200 compared to 100 is the aim point placement.  It's easy to find a place to staple an aim point 6-8" above a 100 yard target.  Usually have to build something to place one four feet above the target.  And then there is wind at 200 being more of a factor than wind at 100.

Shooting long from a rest is still practice.  Good practice.  And it is a confidence builder once you have had good results, which, for most folks, is the second time they try it.
