Sargun 9mm and Girsan MC28 SAC striker fired pistols
« on: November 10, 2016, 05:04:17 PM »
My Girsan MC 28 actually arrived Monday night at 5pm after winning the auction on Sat around noon ,came all the way from Arizona , great shipping time.  I got to shoot it on Election Day first thing after voting put 130 rounds thru it without a hiccup.  It was accurate ,reliable and well accessorized , nice case that even has a spot for your carry ammo ,three mags, a loader ,manual ,oil and cleaning tools.   It did shoot well, cost with shipping was $343.00 so overall its a great value only negative is the trigger feel, pull and reset ,a long reset.   By the end of my shooting session I was okay with it. The Sargun arrived this afternoon , trigger is outstanding for a striker fired pistol ,very short reset, nice clean pull , I will get to shoot it first thing tomorrow  morning.  Mag  release is paddle style ,its not my preferred choice ,but it works, all controls are ambi ,but this one in typical Sar fashion came with the cheap case and one mag no mag loader either.  I will call EAA tomorrow and inquire about additional mags.  Mags are on the cheap side same type of  plastic that the Scorpian CZ mags use.  It is a fullsize pistol ,not too heavy at 30 ounces, fits the hand well and points well.  Cost with shipping was $376.00 .  The Girsan is a better deal as far as what you got with the pistol.   I do believe I will like the superior trigger on the Sar will make it the better choice of the two.  I can also buy the 45 ACP kit  for my Sar and now have a two caliber pistol.  I will shoot it tomorrow and report back with some info on the trigger.  I will also get the mag costs and availabilty from EAA.  Saturday we shoot some photos of the two pistols so I can post them.   My gut tells me I will like Sar better, but to out fit it how I like it will cost more.  The Girsan would however still be a good extra house gun or truck gun because it's a reasonably good value and performed reliably with different ammo.

No surprise on the mag being expensive from EAA. I just got back from shooting the Sargun .  I have stated in the past on this forum and others that I am not a striker fired gun guy ,but I do own some ,stock and custom ones -glocks ,m&p , Fn  and caniks.  The Sargun has an outstanding factory and I will call it a SA trigger with a safety.  Very clean brake excellent reset, great groups out of the box with no cleaning or lubing of the pistol.  What an outstanding buy for $376.00 wish it would have come with more mags.  The only feature that I don't like is the paddle mag release , but I can deal with that.  If you are considering buying a Turk made striker fired gun the buying order should be the Sargun ,then the TP9 Sf model Canik and last place would be the Girsan MC 28 Sac.  Trigger feel is important and essential in a combat handgun for fast follow up accurate shots.  The Girsan for me would be a spare gun or a truck gun not my main go to gun.  Now the Girsan was a good value with the extra mags and such, but that's it. Now it's time to call EAA for more mags and I am not going to screw around ,I am ordering the 45 ACP version today.  We will take some photos and post them.

Very Nice!  8)  They both look like excellent handguns!  :)

I could do well with either of those, but I am currently very well served by the Striker Fired Pistols I currently own. Particularly my Canik TP9 V1.

I look forward to reading about your impressions of the .45 ACP SARGUN.

I am expecting the Sargun 45 acp from Budsgunshop.com by or just after thanksgiving till then I will just have to shoot the 9mm on some more. I will shoot the 9mm version of my snadbag at 25 yards and 50 yards to see what I can do at longer ranges with it. At 10 and 15 yards its dead on.

My Sargun 45acp arrives this afternoon so I am going to be able to spend some time shooting it this week. Now I just have to wait till Thanksgiving so I can find out about this new CZ striker fired pistol. I will have to acquire one of those as well just for testing purposes. You know that you have to have a bunch to make an accurate comparison. For now i will just have to be satisfied beating up on the two Sargun pistols. Of course I will need extra 45 acp mags as well.

One additional item to note factory trigger pull on the 9mm Sargun that I have comes in at 5.3 lbs average on my trigger pull gauge. That is over a full pound lighter than your average factory Glock and almost 2 lbs lighter than your average HK VP9.

The 45 version is here looks almost  identical to the 9mm version.  Has the same great trigger pull, so far the only differences between the two are as follows ,naturally a larger barrel ,slightly beefer slide and the mags have a metal mag body instead of plastic. all that's left to do is go shoot it.  I will have to get 3 extra mags for this one as well.  I will take some photos this weekend although essentially it looks like the 9mm version with some slight difference, size wise they are about the same.

Shot both the 45 and 9mm Sarguns today at 2 inch square dots at 7 yards, the 45 is just as good a shooter as the 9mm.  I could only get 12 rounds in the 45 ACP mag, its a tight spring.  Accuracy was very good, the only real difference between the two pistol was that I could shoot the dots faster with the 9mm over the 45 acp because you have a little more recoil. Zero function issues with the 45 Sargun.  I have a 100 rounds thru it and 400 plus thru the 9mm version.  A couple of failures to lock the slide open on the last round with the 9mm plastic mags,on the 45 acp version you get a steel mags made by Mecgar.  By the end of next week I have the new Canik TP9SF Elite Compact arriving.  I am sure I will have fun putting rounds thru that one as well.  The Sarguns definitely beats the Zenith Gisran MC 28 SAC, but I am sure that the Canik will blow these guns right out of the pool straight out of the box.  I have lots of Canik 18 round and 20 rounders already loaded up. The Canik compact comes with two 15 round mags.  Now as soon as the new CZ P10 Compact becomes available I will get one of those to evaluate and pit against these Turkish pistols.  It will be a fun winter shooting with these pistols.  Time to stock up on more ammo.  More pics after the Canik arrives.

I got the Canik TP9SF Elite Compact in on Tuesday night and put the first 100 rounds down range this morning.  Trigger is by far the best one that Canik has put in there striker fired pistols that I have owned.  I really warren Tactical rear sight ,nice wide U notch ,I did however get rid of the small red font fiber rod and I drilled it out for a larger orange fiber rod which  gave me a fantastic sight picture. It was overcast and dreary this morning, sights were easy to see with my 56 year old eyes and bifocals.   This morning all I did was pound the 100 rounds out as fast as I could, it's cold out here. I used all my 18 and 20 round Canik mags along with the 2  15 round stock mags.  On Sunday I will shoot it for accuracy and see how it compares to the Sar guns which were both very accurate.  About all I need now for this pistol is for Mecgar to make some plus 2 mags .  Out of the box this is an excellent choice for $400 dollars. Out of the box the pistol has a great trigger and really does not need anything other than a third mag. I will get some photos this weekend.  Now I wait for the new CZ striker pistol, can't wait to play with that one.

the +2 base plates off your 20rd mags should be direct swap onto your 15rd mags of the Elite
