I almost bought one of these Compacts yesterday. I just sold a standard compact recently and decided to get a New one this time instead of used. I played with both of them for a little while and then went home and slept on it.  The only thing that killed it for me was that I wanted to carry it daily. The slightly wider frame and weight, let alone I'll never realistically use the rail while carrying it
Sounds like you need a pcr good sir. Or a rami. The guys on that sub forum make it tough on me to not get a rami.

True, but the lack of them in stores makes it easy for you to not get a RAMI.

I had a Rami years ago, but after I got my PCR, I never thought about a Rami again.

So I had a 75b that I fitted a extended safety to, and was looking to transplant this to the compact this evening. Initially the safety wouldn't fit into the ambi paddle so I had to file it down a little. Once that fit I then found that the slide would it the tab on the safety that comes into contact with the sear. As I was breaking out the file I realized that the tab that comes into contact with the sear was fairly thin and might not make complete contact with the set screw on the cgw sear. At this point I called it quits. Doing a little fitting isn't too bad, but once you realize that the set screw might not completely engage the tab, well that's a bit concerning.

So I'm back to square one on the safety. I shoot my full size sp01 with my thumb resting on the safety to increase my leverage. I'd like to do the same with this compact.

It looks like in this thread most people are using the TS safety, Does anyone know if the cjw safety that's listed https://cajungunworks.com/product/shadow-extended-manual-safety-lh-side-only/ would work?

Once Scott and I figured the Tactical Sport safety would work I tried that... Didn't do measurements for the shadow safety. Since the TS has wider frame and the Shadow doesn't I assumed it likely wouldn't work. But you can call CZ Custom or CGW and see if your measurements line up on your safety to the shadow safety.
I took a pic of how I measured mine, but since I am eyeballing just keep in mind there's some differences you'll like find. Also depends on where you place your calipers. So if you do call just make sure you both have your calipers in the same spot so your eyeballing is your only variance. Does that make any sense?

Thanks. Looks like czc had the ts safety, looks like based on the link and your description the one from cgw wouldn't work.

Yup, looks good. They have free shipping on orders over $50 if you need anything else. CGW does too but they don't list the TS Left Hand safeties on their site. You can call and see if they have one in their stock and then snag any other parts to get you over $50 for the free shipping. Yeah, I know, its spending more money to save money.... Just mentioning it off hand in case you are needing anything else.

I put the P01 slide stop on the steel compact and it fits and functions fine. I guess I will order a new P01 slide stop.

What is the difference between the P01 slide stop and the "SP-01 Compact" slide stop? Something I mentioned in one of the other threads is how I dislike how far the slide stop sticks out on the right side of the frame of these "SP-01 Compacts"...

TIA,

K.

My p01 slide stop doesn't stick out so much, has bigger "steps" where the gripping surface for your thumb is and they sit back farther (the slide stop sits closer to the safety on the frame). It looks just like the slide stop on my Shadow, but the Shadow slide stop doesn't function in the compact. With my high support hand grip the slide stop digs into the meaty "thumb palm" of my support hand. That's why I like the thin Rami slide stop, but it also doesn't fit the compact.

Look at the pictures of the Shadow and the SP01 Compact side to side in your post "A rare batch" and you can see what I mean.

Quick summary, don't have much time tonight. It fits! Sticks out a little on the right side. My right side safety is a really tight fit to the left hand safety rode on the OEM safety and this one. Had to polish down the safety rod a little for both to more easily slide into place. If the shadow safety has the same distance to the sear spring cut then I think it should fit, but call one of the shops and double check. Pics are terrible lighting and the gun is a little dirty, but I hope it helps.

Could you provide a little more detail and/or pics of the process for fitting the TS safety? A steel-framed P-01 with an extended safety is the holy grail of carry guns for me. I'm trying to figure out if it's something I could tackle.
Also, any luck finding a lower profile slide stop that works?

Honestly it wasn't really "fitting", but I will snap some pics when I get home and show what I did. It is totally something anyone could do, I am not removing material from any operational parts of the safety. I haven't tried other slide stops, but maybe a few of the other members can chime in... I think I remember hearing the Rami slide stop did not work but the P-01 did. But I'll have to go read around and check.

The lowest profile slide stop that works I've found so far is the P01 slide stop. The Rami slide stop works on my Shadow, but not on the SP01 Compact.

Only fitting that needs to be done at least on mine was two things.

1. you might need to remove some material on the end of the rod that engages the ambi safety lever. A simple flat file took care of this quickly.

2. if you're not using the cgw sear then you'll need to fit the sear, and that I've never done. If you are using the cgw sear then it's just about locktiting a simple part.
