CZ SCORPION EVO PISTOL WILL NOT FEED HOLLOW POINTS HELP

Hi, my Scorpion I purchased two years ago and it shoots FMJ's just fine. However, it will not feed Critical Defense or 124gr Speer Gold Dot's. Has CZ ever came out with a fix for this? I don't see many 2016 owners complain about feeding issues. Been told by CZ the pistol is designed for ball ammo and not hollow points. Some owners can shoot hollow points fine but others like me can't. any fix for this?

Some guns just don't like some ammo profiles.

Ive not had any issues with any of the mix bag of 15 types of HP ammo I have tried.
Its an expensive proposition to try a bunch of rounds I understand.  But its the only way.
Id recommend trying 147gr Winchester Silvertips, Ive yet to find even the most picky of guns that wouldn't feed reliably with it.

The barrel trunnion and feed ramp is different between the 1st and 2nd gen gun.

Mine is an EVO 3 does that mean I have the latest revised edition? I called CZ in 2015 and they told me the pistol was designed to shoot FMJ's and not hollow points. I don't know if polishing the feedramp will do anything because the angle is so steep

What we used to do back in the day is take it to a gunsmith and ask to 'throat and polish'. That widens the chamber mouth by a smideon and polishes up the chamber ramp. My Scorpion will feed anthing BUT Berry's Target Hollow Points, but darn near nothing I have really likes those bullets anyway. Too bad, wicked accurate.

You could use Federal Guard Dog Ammo. It's not HP but designed for expansion while giving you feeding reliability

I have shot Gold Dot Speer 124gr and still jams. I may try having throat polished and throated

I believe that you arent the first person to have issues with feeding 123 grain ammo, and hollow points in particular. I remeber one or two threads with people having the same issues as you.

I only purchase bullets with rounded HP projectile profiles and no lead on the outside of the jacket.  For example, one HP I haven't had any issue with, the offerings from Freedom Munitions.  Not the sharp pointy HP, but the rounded off ones.  There are several other options from other manufacturers with similar profiles that feed just fine for me.  I had issues with PPU HP with the lead showing on the face of the projectile, so I saved those for my CZ 75 SP-01 tactical pistol.

It should feed Gold Dots. They are the same length/nose shape as many round nose bullets.

I shoot 124 Speer Gold Dots out of my carbine and have never had any malfunctions with them.

Have you tried Hornaday XTPs? Those seem to feed in anything, and are an excellent bullet/round, factory or handload.
